Hello, I've never played any RE games but I want to start. One of the problems that arise from this is, locating games 1-3. I read recently that Capcom plans to bring more PS1 games to PSN http://kotaku.com/5172750/shut-up-capcom-are-putting-ps1-games-on-the-psn Should I wait for them to release the games on PSN or find the GameCube versions?

The gamecube remake of the first one is amazing. get that.

If you wait for the games to be put onto the PSN, you might as well buy them otherwise -- it could take a long time. Amazon/eBaying the first three games should be inexpensive, but I'd probably pick up the RE1 Gamecube remake as Joey recommended. You can also find RE2 on the Gamecube, but it's probably more expensive than the PS1 version.
