Released on February 12, 1968, Bon Curry was the first commercialized meal brand sold on a retort pouch (available only at the Hanshin district). The now staple brand name comes from a combination of the French word "Bon" and English word "Curry", hence the name essentially means "delicious curry."
The Bon Curry Gold 21 line was launched in 2001 with the intent of setting "a new standard of Curry" for the 21st century with improved quality and quantity. The various flavors are characterized not just by their levels of spiciness but by their individual tastes: there's the fruity mild curry (amakuchi), the strong but flavorful medium-spicy curry (chūkara), the spicy dry curry (karakuchi) and the hot and delicious ultra-spicy flavor (netsukara).
Bon Curry Neo was launched on February 12, 2009, the 41st anniversary of the Bon Curry brand. It has a homemade-like taste that feels like it was cooked by mom with plenty of love for the whole family. Bon Curry Neo is a curry that evolved with the times while cherishing its roots. With certain materials, it can be cooked in a microwave in two minutes. The evolution of taste does not stop here.
