Rodrik Forrester

Character Background

Being the first born son of the Forrester family, Rodrik was trained since he was a young child to one day become Lord of House Forrester. Rodrik is a strong warrior and a even more capable leader, however when Robb Stark called for his allies (Banners) for war, Rodrik went to answer the call, despite his fathers (Lord Gregor) request to stay behind and protect their home, Ironrath.

Iron from Ice

Rodrik and his house attended Edmure Tully and Roslin Frey's wedding at the Twins along with the rest of Robb Stark's army and was caught in the middle of the unexpected massacre by the hands of the Frey's. Rodrik and the rest of his house do their best to fight off the Frey Solders, while his father's squire (Gared Tuttle), rushes to try and help Rodrik. However, just seconds of catching up to Rodrik, the Forrester is stabbed in the leg with a horse falling on top of him and is presumed dead, leaving the rest of House Forrester without a leader.

The Lost Lords

As he is being carried in a corpse cart with dozens of other bodies from the massacre, Rodrik awakes, confused, severely injured and weak. However, he awakens as the corpse cart gets to Ironrath, but no one takes notice of Rodrik, who is doing his best to get their attention. Desperate, Rodrik then uses the last ounce of his strength to push himself out of the cart as he then falls to the ground when he is finally seen by Ser Royland. Ser Royland orders others to get the Maester and in that moment, Rodrik looses consciousness.

As the Maester is preforming surgery, Rodrik suddenly awakens and see's his mother before he again looses consciousness, only to wake up again to find his arm bandaged and his leg almost crippled. He finds his sister, Talia, singing, and is then given the news that she was practicing a song for their brother, Ethan's, funeral. Then the news of Ryon being held captive was also given, causing anger to rise inside the Forrester.

With the help of Talia, Rodrik begins making his way to the Great hall, in order to make it the small counsel meeting, stating that he was now going to take his role as Lord of House Forrester. It was around that moment that his mother, Lady Elissa Forrester, gives the news that Rodrik's fiancee, Lady Elaena, was invited to see him.

Not too long later Elaena Glenmore arrives, and beings speaking to Rodrik about the future of their two houses and if the two should still marry. However the two were suddenly interrupted by Lord Whitehill, stating that he was going to take all of the Ironwood forests, which ends up going against House Bolton.

At the end of this episode, Rodrik is seen at the funeral of both Lord Gregor Forrester and Ethan. He then gives a speech about the two fallen Forresters and the episode closes with Talia singing a song she wrote for her father and brother.
