They say that Saints Row 3 is going in a new direction.... does that mean they are going to be a Glee club? If you don't get that it's REAL funny. =)

Maybe they will actually put physics in the game and have a realistic story. That wouldn't be saints row anymore then rather gta.

I am always wary when a company announces a "new direction." It means they are going to take what we love about it and fuck it up. Anyways, I hope they do not try to emulate GTA4 -- at all. I love the silly, loose, rules-light gameplay and freedom presented in SR2. For example, a mission required your character to escort a drug dealer during her rounds. All the while you had to fend off rival gangsters and dealers who stiffed her (no pun intended). You were given a vehicle for the mission and as it happens, it took a lot of bullets becoming totally useless. I panicked at the time, hoping to see a mission failed scene and reload my last checkpoint. However, SR2 was totally cool about it. The drug dealer and I proceeded on foot and simply hijacked a new vehicle. The mission proceeded smoothly as if nothing had changed. It was surprisingly to see actual logic being applied to a mission structure. Had Rockstar made this game, I would have failed simply by leaving the assigned vehicle even if it was not critical to the actual mission. Hey, even Yahtzee (sp?) from Zero Punctuation agrees that SR2 is perfect.

An article I was reaing said SR3 will be moving further apart from GTA, that can only mean more crazy stuff to do since this series is pretty well known for it's crazy stuff. Just make the missions more varied and fun and the story atleast a little coherent and I'll be sold.

I hope they don't go the rout gta did.  The exact reason I loved SR2 was because of how 'gta3-ish' it was. If SR3 is all brown, serious and realistic then I'll be pissed >:(

@Lazyaza: It will probably go further away from GTA. I just wish they would announce more about it I am really excited about it. I need to knock out the first one since my roommate and I started with the second one since someone told us it was co op and fun. I have played a little but  it seems like in SR2 they fixed a lot of the problems with the first one so it's kind of hard to go back and play it haha.

I'm hoping the ''new direction'' will simply refer to the different city. Which is in a completely different direction from Stillwater HEYOOO...ugh...

Overall though I'd be happy if SR3 was exactly like SR2 just with a different story and improved graphics. God I loved SR2.

With Saint's Row, Saint's Row 2 and Red Faction Guerrilla Volition Inc. has earned a lot of my trust.
Can't wait to hear more details about SR3.
