A place to buy and repair equipment -- a necessity for any traveling adventurer. You might even try your hand at the forge yourself, if you have the skill.
A place to buy alcoholic beverages and to mingle/meet with non player characters. Bars in games are sometimes essential to advance the plot, or recruit party members. Bars are the modern equivalents of taverns. You see taverns in fantasy games and bars in modern/sci-fi games.

Pyramids are triangular buildings usually made of stone and build in ancient times. Usually filled with tunnels and traps.
