This game was developed by Europeans in a country with a very high suicide rate. So, no big surprise that it looks washed out and dreary.

Sweden doesn't have a very high sucide rate. It's a myth born from the fact that we were one of the first countries to document death by suicide. Just saying :)

But nice work with the color fix, I guess.

That would be my fellow Commonwealth of the Realm member Greenland, though I think that is closely related to the extreme season of the country, specifically the winter. Never seeing the sun for such long periods is bound to make anyone depressed.

It still looks like crap. (Can't wait to play it!)

Because the game is all 'puppies and rainbows' so you thought the look of the game should reflect that? Do you also put a bunch of HDR on all of your photos?

Not sure I'd want the game to look so bright and colorful as I liked the art style quite a bit. Plus, the look of it fits the overall mood.

I guess the super faded/washed out/dulled look of the game reflects how drab actual nature is a lot of the time, but I agree, the game looks worse for it.

Whatever, it's an artistic decision they committed to, but I think it was a poor choice. This is a good approximation of my reaction to the game with its current colour palette:

I finished the game btw, it's real short.

I advise anyone playing it to be careful with the cub ai when picking up food as they will run to position themselves in front of you in a half circle and won't move from their positions unless you dash away. Lost 2 cubs because of this, real annoying.
