I am fully aware that I won't make many friends with this topic, but is really necessary to spam the walls of J&V in addition to the normal comments?

That's probably just a fraction of the P4 wall messages and I don't even want to now how many similar PM's Jeff and Vinny get. If I were them, I would be extremely annoyed by all this. Yes, they care about this game and clearly are aware of the multiple endings, but P4 is far from being a main focus in the office. Otherwise, V&J would be pretty lousy journalists.
I just don't see the need for putting that sort of pressure on them. There are already many helpful comments, this forum and tons of online FAQs readily available in case they truly need help.
Is there anyone agreeing with me? I am afraid this whole thing has grown way out of proportion.
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4
Game » consists of 5 releases. Released Jul 10, 2008
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 is a role-playing game developed and published by Atlus for the PlayStation 2. It is chronologically the fifth installment in the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona series. Like its predecessor, its gameplay combines a traditional role-playing game with elements of a social simulation. Its critical and commercial success spawned a sizable media empire, including several spinoff titles.
Aren't you taking it a little too far?
" @atomic_dumpling: I agree with your sentiments, not with this thread though. People take this game shit way too seriously....and your P4 example proves it. I don't even look at the comments anymore, you should do the same! "Agreed. It's just another JRPG game out there.
I think they have Drew or Ryan look through the comments anyways, so they don't see any more spoilers themselves. If not, they should. I'd much rather have them surprised and enjoying themselves. Plus it makes for better banter.
I am fully aware of my own hypocrisy here. But if we ever want to see another Endurance Run on giantbomb, we need to figure out how to handle these things more, I don't know, coolly? That's all I am saying, I guess.

Don't get me wrong, I totally love the comments. I tried to stop reading them once, but most of them are far too interesting to be ignored. I read them after watching the video, though.Also...the dood's enjoy reading Endurance Run comments...at least, from what Vinny's Twitter says. "
It's something that comes with popularity, and I'm glad these guys stay down to earth about it. I know I couldn't even if I tried. If I were them I would have locked PMs to my account from normal users a LONNNNG time ago.
But that's part of what makes Giant Bomb so awesome isn't it? Really cool dudes talking about video games.
@atomic_dumpling: "Ok all 5,000+ fans of Giant Bomb, I REALLLLY want you to play it cool and stop annoying Giant Bomb staff so much!" *proceeds to get beaten with Space Lobster plushies*

Thing is, I'm not quite sure that that accurately represents the age group that visits Giant Bomb.
Yeap, the general vibe I'm getting is that a good majority of the site's fans were born in the nineties. It's a double-edged sword I guess; Giant Bomb has a very young and enthusiastic user base that makes it what it is, but it does go overboard at times like this." @pornstorestiffi said:

If you haven't noticed, the Endurance Run is very popular. Some people who have read FAQs and stuff to win the game feel like they have to "correct" Jeff and Vinny's failures. Sure, I doubt that they could achieve the true ending without help, but that doesn't mean that everyone needs to constantly remind them that the event is coming up.

That might be the reason, however i have a though that could add to the explanation of the problem.
I think most people can agree that people on the internet in general are harsher with words than in real life, "Not always, in general I mind you!” The safety of sitting behind a computer gives everyone a confidence boost. You can speak your mind without worry. The worst thing that can happen is that some other random guy on the internet writes you angry back. Hell I call people idiots all the time for being overly ignorant/arrogant, however I would newer walk up to a stranger in real life and say the same thing though. We are all using persononas I might say (Giggle), pun very much intended. My second point is a very normal (hence something many probably have) observation I’ve made over the years. This is psychology on a very basic level. We all have ideas on how we would like to be perceived by others. Some want to appear smart, others beautiful or popular and others like they don’t give a fuck about what anyone thinks which a call your bluff on, we all do in major or minor way.
Many of us nerds highly like to correct others. It makes us feel smart and clever at the same time. It’s specially a common trait among this group of people because many of the people in this category have so much knowledge and base a lot of their identity on how smart and intelligent they are. A good way to feel that way is by correcting others, because it boosts our own ego, feel smart, feel useful and a little superior even though we might deny it. It’s a milder version of watching a reality show and laughing at the people on the TV. What your really doing is thinking “Ha-ha good thing imp not that stupid, fat ugly or whatever”. One feels better about ones own vices when other peoples have worse
Bring these elements together and you got people who like correcting others while having no fear of repercussion, might even add the young insecure people to the mix, hence the overflow of “Why don’t you do it my way” or “OMFG LOLZ WHY THE FUCK BLA BLA BLA YOU SUCK I RULE” messages.
Comments??
They're not journalists....Ryan even said that once. What they do doesn't even vaguely resemble journalism
Yeah well, I suppose you could call them editors, writers, PC office dudes or whatever the heck you want. The point is, this is not (yet?) a Persona fansite.
This is the internet people on the internet are crazy, This is about a video game people get crazy over video games. I love the ER it is a lot of fun and I love to hear Jeff and Vinny talk about the crazyness that is going on, I would love to see them get the true ending and all but really people need to chill the fuck out about.
Ok if they don't get it that will suck and all but it will not be then of everything thing.
And I like how a lot of people that watch the endurance run haven't even played the game, and feel the need to correct Jeff and Vinny's mistake, which I think is pretty stupid.
Well whatever, it's the internet, no one can stop them from being retards...
if it wasnt for these guys an their er of this game i would have never thought about this game .. and now having played it and reached the true endgame i can safely say that its the best rpg ive ever played .. im also a punk enough to admit that im a bit a part of the problem like during certin scenes of that boss battle i was cringing i was like " AHHH YOU SHOULDVE DONE_____ AND _____" but now its watever let them play the game how they want to 4 as much as other people are bitching at the choices they are doing they are doing fine and everybody is gonna be spamming the non spoiler true ending guide in the comments 2 make sure the endurance run truly concludes ( myself included
its a bit harsh calling my ass out like this but whatever
i wonder if vantesla's gonna get you , im just here to explain myself im not here to be like " O U BIG DICKHEAD I HATE YOU BLAH BLAH BLAH..." it would be funny if he does that
" I think it has something to do with the Endurance Run being one of the most popular features of the site. People get passionate about their beloved features. I say let them do it. If it gives the fans some peace of mind, what does it bother you to scroll past? "@FluxWaveZ said:
