Luckily never had to work retail but I always return carts to the cart return and usually bring one that's left on the curb inside. Always amazed people will leave them in between parking spaces instead of walking 15 feet.

As someone myself who has been seeing a chiropractor for the past less-than-a-year, I can safely say that my chiropractor is amazing and actually programs a lot of preventative exercises that are meant to strengthen my spine and support structure for the long term. His literal hope is that some day I don't actually need to see him anymore. Maybe I'm just lucky, but my chiro definitely also has a background in physiotherapy which uses frequently to explain concepts or to give preventative advice.

That being said, they are absolutely right that a TON of chiropractors out there are god awful and subscribe to a lot of real shady-assed medical misinformation and non-scientifically verified bullshit. I have definitely run into (and run completely away from) of chiropractors that even preach anti-vaccine methodology, because they are total fucking garbage people.

Thank fucking god my chiropractor is not one of these pseudo-science assholes, and absolutely does not condone other chiropractors that vouch for shitty non-medical practices. In fact, it's just bad business for him in the end, because it casts such doubt on his profession - so he hates all those other assholes with a passion.

Cart narcs are out of work here since the supermarkets started making you put £1 into a lock to unlock the cart, and only get it back again when you return it.

I use a £ shaped wood token with a poop emoji branded into it.

@franticfinesse: As someone with a progressive chronic back condition I'd say go to your doctor first above all else. They should be able to point you in the right direction (or to a specialist) for a specific issue.

For example, physical therapy helps a lot of people but it actually makes my condition worse.

Chiropractors are bad. Go to a Dr of Physical Therapy. Treat the cause instead of the symptom.

My chiropractor believed some nutty things, but my injury was severe, doctors wanted to start exploratory surgery, and my physician wanted me to take codeine, muscle relaxers, and anti-inflammatories for the rest of my life.

Instead of regularly collapsing in pain, and being unable to sit or stand for more than an hour, and being unable to carry a laptop, I got into backpacking and got back into rock clubs. I eventually started lifting heavy weights, dropped 40lbs in fat and put on another 15 in muscle.

I was miserable and honestly considered if my life was worth living. I’m convinced that my chiropractor turned that around.

I won’t vouch for everything he said, but the year that I saw him saved my life.

@ragsdr: Mine was one of those guys. True believer. Take no medicines. Chiropractic has cured blindness and deafness...That sort of thing.

Dude nearly scared me off, but he did wonders for my uncle, so I went with it. It’s among the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I’m sure there are bad actors out there, but this guy healed me. He worked on my back for a year, and my quality of life soared through the roof.

Anyhow, I saw one other Chiropractor, a woman he worked with...I saw her once. Eh.

My only real experience is with the guy, but he turned my life around. That said, look around, get referrals. I know folks who have had bad experiences as well.
