Overview

A few weeks after Half-Life 2's release, Valve released Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. The goal of the game is to kill as many other players as possible, using a variety of means, in either free-for-all or team-based matches. A subsequent update to the game added an additional map and three new weapons. The original Xbox and Xbox 360 releases of Half-Life 2 contains no multiplayer components.

Gameplay

The game-play in HL2 Deathmatch is similar to other games, in that there are two different game modes. Regular deathmatch and team deathmatch.

Deathmatch: basically a free for all. Some of the players take the roll of the combine soldiers, or one of the rebels.

Team Deathmatch: Combines vs Rebels. The player is put into the match on one team or the other. There are some differences between the two teams in that, the combine only need 1 charge pack to get their suit to 100, and the starting weapons are changed.

Combines start with the stun stick and the rebels start with the crowbar.
