Is it just me or is the gameplay window getting smaller with each video?

For the record @benpack I don't think you need to S-rank everything to play the True Ending DLC, you just need to buy it. I've played it and there's no way in hell I S-ranked every previous chapter.

Still hella lame you have to pay for the ending, but just an FYI.

One of my biggest gaming accomplishments was beating God Hand on hard, so I decided remnant from the ashes can't be that hard, can it? Well, it wasn't, until it was. This game is procedural so maybe I got a bad roll but fuck this game is no joke, but it's so fun!

What's this have to do with akiras wrath? Remnant From The Ashes makes me feel like the character in this game when he gets mad.

i got my ps3 out of storage and played through the whole game and dlc in one day thanks to this feature, what a great game, thank you for playing it

Episode 2? When was episode 1?

This game a semi-guilty pleasure of mine. The middle drags quite a bit but it's worth it for the -insane- DLC ending. I'm pretty sure you need a certain amount of S-ranks to unlock it but definitely not all of them.

The Ben & Jason combo radiates chill vibes that pair quite well with the furious insanity of the game. Enjoying the feature, guys!

A great Monday morning start, some wrath and grapes. In keeping with the theme, ate some Filipino empanadas with raisins in the filling.

5 S-ranks is all you need for the true ending! Just play ok and you'll probably manage enough by the time you're done.

I guess they just couldn't wait any longer to play this amazing game!

@unastrike: I also fell off Vikings tv show, but after that season was over I picked it up again and its now one of my favorite shows. Give it another chance (it worked for me)

Is the voice actor of Asura the English voice actor of Gaara? I noticed the 'dancing/face touching deity guy was the English voice actor who did Orochimaru, and maybe they just went full ham and got everyone from Naruto?

I love this game, but this episode reminded me how much they overuse Yasha's whistly theme in the later sections.

Honestly about spit my drink out at that chapter title. Confessions of a Mask is the name of Yukio Mishima's second novel. Mishima is a massive cultural figure in post war Japan, he wrote a lot of famous plays, poems, etc. about honor and the importance of tradition, eventually denouncing the westernization of Japan.

His death is pretty famous, involving an attempted coup to overthrow the westernization of Japan and reinstall emporers (he was kinda a fascist). He and his followers stormed the Japanese military headquarters, kidnapped the commandant, and attempted to inspire the soldiers to a coup with a speech and manifesto. He failed, and committed seppuku (notably he wrote a short play glamorizing seppuku, though I can't recall it's name).

Anyway, what's most interesting to me is that Confessions of a Mask, a book widely considered to be veiled autobiography, is the story of a young gay boy growing up and attempting to fit in with the pressures of traditional Japanese culture and masculinity.

I def don't think the queerness of the title is meant to be implied for Yasha, but I see parallels between Yasha and Mishima, with the death of the emporers, Yasha feeling conflicted about it, and also Asura's attempt to seek revenge in the midst of a world that has changed.

I'm now really curious to see where this game story goes. I definitely don't mean to give this silly action anime nonsense too much credit, but also, it's got me paying a bit more attention.

PS I'm far from a Mishima expert, just happened to be fascinated by him back when I was a closet queer growing up.

@lifeasclarity There is a fair amount of claims that supposedly ascertain Mishimas attempted coup as an excuse for his planned suicide. Among other things, he had stated many years before, that once he finished the Sea of Fertility tetralogy, he had completed his life's work and would promptly kill himself.

I've read most of his works, "The Sailor Who Fell From Grace With The Sea" being my favourite by some margin.

That is a really interesting comparison, though, and I really appreciate you bringing this to attention.

On another note; two weeks inbetween 45 minute episodes is a real bummer. Really hope this can become a weekly thing! I'm very much enjoying this series.

This game rules

I'm all for long and plenty cutscenes, lord knows I love a good story, but this game seems to have a lot and not as much gameplay as say God Hand. The appeal of that series was watching Ben and Jason get better and have to really try to get through the areas. This game seems more QTE heavy which is fine but maybe not for playing through for a series? Perhaps it's just me.

Asura's voice actor is the guy who voices War in Darksiders.

This game is exactly as incredible as I remember. The only thing that’s changed since I first played it is that now I can only hear Yasha as Kazuhira Miller.
