@topcyclist: Well I think there is a stark difference between American censorship of nudity and violence in mainstream TV and Chinas government mandate to not recognize certain words, people or nations under the threat of jail or worse. That said, in this situation it really is hard to fault the developer for having to comply with these "standards" that are strictly placed over them. As far as I know it's a fantastical game and the words are only censored in social chat? I didn't even know there was chat. Either way, their hand was pretty much forced.

Ok gotta ya. Thats a bigger thing. I thought it was the low key censorship we argue about over ign forms or something...akin to devs taking out bikini levels or lowering the breast jiggle in DOA4 etc. Getting jail for it and it being a mandate is more equal to our laws on certain material not being sold or seen period...That said Its another thing where i dont live in china and cant speak for if their government rules are generally liked by their population or if its hated like tons of americans cause were use to so much 'freedoms' as we put it. Overall its tuff to place my ideals on them is the point and them just following the rules is fair when in the end they just wanna make a game and have fun. The game is still a success and their hard work is commended so im hopeful the censorship didnt deter their vision and was just a simple thing.

Speaking to 13 Sentinels, I think its certainly up there in terms of game of the year contender. At least in terms of story? Its pretty damn good IMO. Having seen it all the way to the end myself I can say it pays off in a solid enough way. I found myself getting bored of the battle system about half-way through, that feels like a major missed opportunity.

Of the 14ish characters you unlock and get to play the story-focused bits of though? They almost all play very differntly at least in terms of tone, nature and even mechanics. You've got someone acting as a detective, someone trying to get out of a ground hogs day situation, someone trying to work out his inner demons and a girl trapped in a conversation puzzle akin too one of those lucas arts games. Its pretty varied in terms of tone, content and style, which really -really- helps in terms of not making each of the protagonists feel samey.

That all said like, its one of those anime games. If you can't get past the PG-13 level nudity of anime school girls, you'll likely not be on board with the game. Check out the quick-look if your interest, I think it does a fine job of telling you if you wanna play it or not. For me, it was worth the 60$. It might not make my game of the year (There are a lot of strong contenders for best story in a video game/best rpg this year between Persona 5 Royal, FF7R and potentially the upcoming Cyberpunk) but its certainly deserves to be in the same conversation as those games.

Edit-thinking about Persona, I actually don't think this game does much more in the "PG-13 sexuality/anime school girls" then did that game. I think if you could get past Anne in a cat-suit in Persona 5, 13 Sentinels isn't much worse.

I'd be curious to hear why Jeff doesn't like tricking people in Among Us, but did enjoy it in Split or Steal. Maybe it's that he would play the former with friends and the latter with strangers?

Maybe this is a REAL dumb question but what was Brad referring to right at the end when he said "The biggest, longest, most important game of the year just came out"?

Braddddddddd.

Squadrons has half of what you said it doesn't, at least. Depending on the ship you're in you can have front/back shield focus and incremental adjustment for weapons/shields/engines.

Definitely has more depth in the mechanics than given credit for here, I think.

Also - it was said that the 'defection' was a way to avoid playing empire/space nazis. They have missions later in the story where you're 100% space nazis blowing up 'good guy' stuff. A few things that were maybe missed/not quite there in that part of the chat.

Also a little bit sad to not hear much mention of multiplayer, given that seems to be their primary focus for this thing.

I played DnD when I was in Jr. High a bunch and the guys I played with would not allow for any interpretation of the rules and (looking back knowing what I know now) the DM was too lazy to figure out stuff that would be creative within the rules set. So I stopped playing in High School. Two years ago my wife and I started to play and I started to run a game and go figure it was a lot of fun. Because I wasn't gate keeping or trying to keep people with in the lines. My thing always was, "You you think you can roll that go for it". Its been like sitting with friends telling a great story together.

Most proposals to break up CA into multiple states are based on separating the "rich" parts of the states because Venture Capitalists want to pay less taxes or to create more Republican states, often with some associations to questionable right wing ideologies.

The proposed "State of Jefferson" has included Humboldt, as well almost all of Northern California stretching far down into the central valley, but carving out the Bay Area.

You can use Stadia on the new Chromecast, it's just not officially supported yet.

I use Stadia as having to manage local hardware and game installs fucking sucks. I'm sick and tired of that shit. Being able to hit a play button on any device I have to play a game without having to even think about save file management is a thing of beauty. And the games run and look better than my local hardware.

Also @brad, Stadia's $10/month Pro subscription gives you access to currently 29 games. It's a rolling list of games that they give and take from, but they've been giving more games than taking each month. When you subscribe, you "claim" the game and then it stays on your account forever. You can play those claimed games whenever you are subscribed to Pro. You can let it lapse, and come back in a year and have access to those claimed games again. Basically, the longer you stay subscribed, the more games are added to your collection.

Yeah this. It was a bit frustrating to listen to a lot of that talk being factually inaccurate but it sounded like the chat did attempt to set them straight.

When Jan said he got a Diluc in his first few rolls I Yelled out loud: "WHAT THE FUCK?!?" I couldn't help being so surprised.
I would love a Diluc... he's super fun to play.... maybe if I put more money in I'll get a character before hitting the pity again....

The killer app in VR in my opinion is definitely SuperHot VR - it is truly the only "perfect" VR game I've played with no reservations

My main problem with the new Spider-Man, is that PS4 Spider-Man looked relatable and not too attractive. He looked like a guy you could imagine not being the most popular kid at school. This was one of the problems with Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, because he was just too attractive to be relatable in the way Peter is supposed to be.

The new Spider-Man just looks way too young and conventionally attractive to be this kind of Spider-Man.
