I really like this podcast, so don't don't get me wrong, but, uummm, who are these people? and why is it on GiantBomb? :-p Serious question though, still, I really like it, keep up the good work guys.

Super surprising the guys' reaction to microsoft. Kind of gave me hope ps4 might have different protection in place? Which is probably the worst. Low expectations are for the better. I just hope the announcement is something like "With PS4 you, the gamer, can play all our games offiline ... for up to 36 HOURS!" CHOO CHOO

Oh jesus, my ears are bleeding.

I find it funny that these guys get so hyperbolic about Dark Souls and yet none of them have even finished the game. I've beaten it twice including the DLC, probably couple of hundred hours of play time in total, and I still wouldn't call it my game of the generation by any stretch.

For the record, @dexterkid I (JJ) have finished Dark Souls and Demon Souls and I'm about to finish it for a second time (and a 3rd time when we finish the naked run!)

I'm a huge Sony fanboy, but even I'm not naive enough to believe that the used-game policies for the PS4 will be any different from the ones for the X-Bone. If third party publishers were able to bully Microsoft and their 1billion-dollar money hat into that position, what chance is there for Sony to resist?

It's crazy how much of MS's money is used to just buy out exclusives rather than to prop up new studios for fresh titles. This method benefits only MS.

God the end of this podcast is so sad, it truly scares me to find out what the future holds for us.

This Divx thing sounds like a great deal! I want to buy a DVD player with a phone line now.

I was also under the impression none of you guys had finished it, making it feel odd that you guys are looking forward so strongly to a sequel of a game you're all too lazy to beat. (it's nice to hear otherwise for at least JJ)

It's a great game of course, I put in 400 hours and it makes me happy that there's such an enthusiastic podcast about my favourite game.

Microsoft straight up jumped the shark. If Sony sticks to its current policies with the PS3 and carries them over the the PS4 (no change) they win without a doubt.

I say this and I have a 40,000+ gamerscore on my 360 and I don't even own a PS3.

It's funny how quickly things change. I have at no point had any intention of purchasing a Wii U. If Sony's policies follow suit with Microsoft's, Nintendo will be getting all of my console dollars from then on. Let's hope Sony keeps its perspective and realizes that it can't afford to do any of this flim flam if they want to keep their market in Japan, and that they can get a serious edge overseas as well by steering clear of it.

For those who want to see that delightful DIVX training video in full, I'll embed it below. The podcast chops off about the first five minutes for posterity since the really good stuff doesn't come until then, but as a whole work, it's basically transcendental.

The interesting this is Sony's policies do not have to follow Microsoft's for it still be screwed up. As it is now you have an EA, Activision, Ubisoft account connected to the game save also connected to your PSN id. Sony could say, "We won't be any party of this, our system will not check or help check..." But, when you fire up the EA game it will check online (PS4 can't stop it) and your game would check in with EA to authorize it. The reality is Sony need to help or even agree with any of this but...what are they going to do not allow the game on their system???

In the real world, Sony need not follow or help with any of this - yet your games still won't work, you still won't be able to sell or loan your games, and the same horrible rules apply. So then what do you do? Is Sony's system acceptable for not requiring any of this but having to follow along...or is it just as unacceptable. In any system there are perpetrators, victims, rescuers or bystanders. What will Sony be - a rescuer or bystander? What will your favorite publisher be under this system...and for how long?
