"When LTTP came out I didn't think it had good graphics... I was expecting more from Super Nintendo."

Uhm, what the actual hell were you expecting more from John? What in early 1992 did you have to compare the flagship third Zelda game against? I really want to know what Genesis or TG16 games were knocking your socks off at the time! :p You do know EGM doctored all their screenshots right? lol

But seriously, JJ sounds like 1UP Yours-era Shane Bettenhausen at times with his weird internet beefs about the Xbox One.

I come to 8-4 specifically for their prime cuts of weird beef. ;)

Best out of context quote: "If you put your finger in that crease and push the thing, you're going to hit the eject button."

And this solidified my opinion that JJ is a huge troll, and guaranteed that I won't take anything he has to say seriously. Fanboy to the fucking core.

Quoted for truth. Those forum nutjobs that get careers in the industry? JJ's one of them. Some day I hope to be as well. ;)

At around 1:17:00, JJ seemed frustrated by industry pundits' unwillingness to stick it to MS for probably selling fewer units. That is a pretty frivolous thing to get worked up over, but I get where it comes from: the belief that people are "holding their tongues" for MS in a way that they would not do for, say, Sony.

But the part where he mocks people who are merely happy that both consoles sold well, and suggests that anyone without a console preference is a liar... that part of the podcast genuinely disturbed me. It's one of the craziest things I've ever heard someone say on a podcast.

Good podcast otherwise, though. Just needed to get that off my chest.

It's pretty ridiculous how much he sounds like one of the typical PS4 trolls. He was even worse when they were talking about how resolution didn't matter if the stuff about FPS being poor was true. I think it's crazy for someone who works in the industry to have that opinion of not caring if both sell well.

Edit: Holy shit is this complaining by JJ the rest of the podcast? It's absolutely fucking absurd.

John (RIcciardi) has also openly admitted he's Sony biased several times on the podcast as well. His reasoning was largely because they (8-4) are not in the industry the same way journalists are - and shouldn't be scrutinised for their bias', as say a Jeff Gerstmann would be if he showed a Sony/MS bias.
