Welp, that song's now stuck in my head for the day...looks like this Black Friday just got a badass soundtrack.

Yeah I had the same problem with Wasteland 2. My team of 4 was too efficient on supreme jerk and did not get much of a challenge. I was half way through the game on my first run and last night I decided to redo the game with just one custom created character and rest of my team being NPCs I recruit along the way. It has been quite challenging and rewarding. Instead of normally having the team of 5 I only had two and we were taking down a whole town full of raiders quite handily. However have to leave behind a lot of locked areas and trapped safes because my current team lacks the perks. I am hoping by the time I return I will have a larger team and hopefully a dedicated medic

I Think these mainstream games have broke enough new ground to be considered. I think you guys are put off mainly for the fact that it is mainstream titles. Fallout 4 excluding. MGS 5 is dvivisive but I think TW3 does more than enough compared to many games out.

i dont blame 8-4 for any of XCXs changes (not because they're blameless, but because we, on the outside, will probably never know who is actually to blame), and hey...i still love you guys, but its such a bigger deal than "well, its complicated." or "theres a lot of moving pieces and different people involved". this is the kind of stuff that just shouldnt be happening. yes, i have the game pre-ordered. yes, im going to play it. and yes, im disappointed with the version im getting. if i was fluent in japanese, i'd import the bejeezus out of it and leave this western version to rot. there are unnecessary changes, changes that dont make sense, there are changes that could've been handled better, there's removed content, the list goes on surprisingly long.

and i know that, because im getting up in arms about something i believe in, the internet is going to take a single part of my argument out of context and turn it against me. IE, the fact that i dislike these changes to the game obviously means im a pedophile because i want the little girl in a bikini, right? no, thats not what im talking about. i understand, and kinda agree, with situations where...maybe this content shouldnt have been this way in the first place OR doesnt translate well. you wanna rename "dolls"? yeah, that makes sense. "Skells" sounds cool. you wanna retexture that girl? please do.......OR...or just change her age. "oh...suddenly the instruction manual says shes 16 instead of 13". or 18, or whatever. problem solved. from a purely efficient standpoint, thats just unnecessary extra work.

and ya look at something like the bust slider being removed from character customization. why was that something people were even /thinking/ about? its character customization...why are people not allowed to customize their characters?! and, now that the slider is gone, why is the only selectable chest size almost half the size of default on the original version? why isnt it just default? and if its too risque to have a chesty protagonist, why are all the practically buck-naked, heavily-bossomed NPCs left intact?? you know the ones, the characters even bustier than a maxed out 'bust slider' protagonist?

*sigh* frankly, this pointless comment has gone on far too long, and i havnt even scratched the surface of the issues here, but i am just frustrated. it doesnt matter /who/ is making these decisions, the decisions are just stupid. its stupid! from every perspective. more work for the localizers, more bad press in the west, and more time spent analyzing 'problems'. i feel like the localization problems of yesteryear are still going strong, despite all the progress we (as an industry) have made. how soon until we're back in the days of redrawing blonde persona characters, and giving them english names? if nintendo (or whoever) is willing to demonstrably change a product, just to reach or appease a demographic, then we arent as far away from that miserable past than you might think.

@naion: I feel like I understand your frustrations. Just a quick question, only the player character's breasts (and their range of size) are different from the Japanese version? Every other character is untouched?

This is like a weird counterpoint to something else I was thinking about, the approach to sexualisation in DOA Beach Volleyball versus DOAX3. DOAXBV was seedy but compared to DOAX3 and especially the character design choices over that period of time, it seems downright tasteful.

The age slider in DOA2 on Dreamcast, in the context of that great fighting game and competition my group of friends developed around it, was a quintessential gaming moment for me. I truly feel like my life would not have been as rich without that stupid, tacky, bullshit thing.

That said, that affected all female characters in the game. In this case, it may just be only the Player Character, which is less of the content.

This particular localisation edit will not stop me buying this game full of mechs and alien dinosaurs, and endless young, dead faces and I will not lose sleep over it.

I don't know if I want anything from Sinbad and I definitely don't want Bubsy's gifts. But if Arnold tells me its turbo time I am game.
