Hamilton is the worst. He's so whiny!

Nothing's going to happen to him though... Mercedes wouldn't dare do anything to their superstar.

All right! Great season! I didn't watch a single race this time, but I have some memorable times with Alt+F1 this year:

- That time I had a 4 hour drive and listened to 4 episodes in a row.

- Those times I went biking on a forest trail, learning about different turns while doing turns of my own.

- That time I went hiking through the woods and had a Dave Lang episode to keep me company.

- Those times I played Spelunky and Nuclear Throne, getting motivated with Drew's super good hosting and Danny's colo(u)rful commentary.

Looking forward to next year, when I plan to sign up for Playstation Vue and actually follow F1 week to week!

Now that Nico has won a Championship can he fade into obscurity forever? He's just so little fun.

Now that Herbie is retiring, maybe Hat Dude will get a promotion?

You're bound to recognise him. Alexandre Molina.

I'm so happy for Nico and I'm thrilled that Hamilton's entitled behind came up short. I also fail to see how Nico was not fun this year - he had real desperation at points (leading to some bold and reckless moves) and pulled out some incredible qualifying times when the chips were down. There was a point in the middle of the season when I thought we were witnessing a meltdown, but he pulled it together masterfully and made what could have been a boring season a real thrill.

I haven't listened to the episode yet, but I'm interested to see how they interpret the season as well as the final race. This year flew by!

Thanks to Drew and Danny for rekindling my love of F1. You should get something from Bernie himself for introducing (and reintroducing) so many people to this sport! Plus, I was able to casually name the capital of Azerbaijan in a conversion the other day strictly because I listen to this podcast.

Growing up with Schumi winning titles for Benetton and Ferrari, at some point I decided that Formula one and all racing is a pointless stupid "sport", being a race fan you had to spend hundred bucks a day on the for profit cart tracks that sprung up in every city. I strongly suspect that watching racing leads some drivers to drive more aggressively and recklessly.

But it is an interesting entry point to contemplate driving physics, strategy, risk taking and all that. I greatly appreciate the open minded approach Danny and Drew take. Also I'm perfectly happy to listen in on racing and F1, only occasionally catching the race when flipping channels.

Then they'll go home, play Call of Duty, go into work the next day and shoot their boss?

I may be being facetious here but how different is what you described than people who blame violent films and games on real instances of violence?

Oh man that RIC/VES interview is pretty great. I think the only other team I would want to see try that is Mclaren, Button and Alonso are bros for life.

Many people drive drive every day. So a better analogy with Call of Duty would be people who handle guns every day. And I suspect soldiers and cops, NRA nutters and gang-bangers absolutely use some opportunities to channel their movie/CoD fantasy at times. Opportunity being the main enabler and lack of opportunity the main deterrent.

@gerdoner:Fair play to him. First driver not to defend his title since Mansell?

Sadly, in these days of personal driver numbers, we'll not be seeing a 0 on a car next year.

@eurobum: I think the operative word here is 'nutters'. They'll still be nutters without games, movies, watching speedy race cars with driving around on the safest tracks ever built etc. Still, tabloid media have a hook for a story instead of trying to understand a deeper problem, eh?

I want Hamilton and Max to be together. Hamilton is the best driver right now, title or not.

Now Nico can go live his life and do whatever it is he prefers to driving that is better for his life and family. Good for him for achieving his dream.

So much press speculation about who Toto should choose for that seat - I reckon it's easy and it's got to be Pastor, right? I would love to see the look on Hamilton's face if that happened.
