The robot competition they described at the end was kinda actually a thing for a while on the BBC. It was made by the same people as Robot Wars and was called Techno Games.

Mark Webber would be my first choice for real world "Rocket League" He was in training all the way back in 99. This effort would have slammed the ball into the back of the net.

I agree that earthquakes are super weird. My country is in a very seismic zone, but luckily where i live is distant enough from the epicenters that you can experience the lighter effects without being in actual danger. What surprised me the most is realizing how much things and materials you perceive as very rigid get actually sort of "plastic", even more than the ground moving
