Danielle is a great guest, too bad Alex couldn't make it. Would love to hear more from her on GB, like others mentioned she's been a swell addition to Idle Thumbs as well.

@mister_snig: Yeah... it's so telling that Patrick metonymically mentions Cowboy Bebop, which is 16 years old at this point. With shows like that at the turn of the millennium, it seemed as though anime might be poised to become cool and mainstream; until the bubble burst and so much anime got... uncomfortable.

Getting a little tired of Patrick ragging on anime/enjoying anime.

I like Danielle, and have been enjoying her on Idle Thumbs, although she does occasionally fall into the trap of making everything about her life experience. I mean let's be honest, while she may feel more comfortable at a place that is actively encouraging LGBT relations, (Shitty that she doesn't feel comfortable being publicly affectionate with her partner in a lot of places), Geek and game culture is rife with cross dressing cosplayers... Is it different because the person might be an actual Trans or have a gender identity issue? Stuff like that just strikes me as odd.

Danielle is awesome! Heard her first time on Idle Thumbs and am very happy about her becoming a part of the show. Didn't even knew about her being gay until a week ago and am very happy for the success at gaymerX.

I bet she was often in the crosshair of some real douchebags for sadly obvious reasons.... but I am glad that she stayed awesome and rose above those people.

I somehow can't blame her for that. I bet that many people on the internet and in videogames made it hard for her just for being a girl, let alone being gay, where straight guys dominate the scene. Being attacked frequently on a personal level makes you approach everything probably more personal.

Never did anybody tell me I suck because I am a guy or straight. I sucked because I sucked, that's that. It's a nice privilege that not everybody has and I would like to see a future where it's not a privilege anymore.

More Danielle in the future please!

Really? I have, It's the danger of extremists on any side of any argument. They become the equal counterpart to the thing that they hate. Danielle is not that though, so I won't dig deep into it here. It's a danger every social or political movement faces though, transitioning away form the victim role into the advocate(there's probably a better word) in order to actually make meaningful use of the attention your group has gained.

However I digress because the vast majority of the time she is a cool lady.
