I can understand that mentality, but I'm in between on this franchise. Like, I want absolutely fucking nothing to do with Danganronpa. Just seeing it makes me physically ill. I call it "The Touhou Effect".

The new DKC is NES difficult, but with unlimited continues; a well made game.

Why is Patrick embarrassed and hung up on "Truth Bullets"? It's just a silly metaphor for evidence. The characters don't even mention "Truth Bullets" themselves, because it's purely a gameplay element with a wacky name, similar to "Limit Break" or "X-Factor."

They're only called "Truth Bullets" to fit with game's action-based gameplay gimmicks to differentiate itself from the likes of Ace Attorney. Admittedly, they're really poor gameplay gimmicks and are probably the worst part of the game, but I'd like more discussion about that than the word "Truth Bullets."

Man, if Patrick and Alex are weirded out by Danganronpa, I wonder how they would fair with Ace Attorney or Persona.

I guess I can see how that might happen. I have absorbed a lot of annoying shit about Touhou so I kind of do have an inherently negative outlook on that despite knowing nothing about it.

Well that's..not right either, but regardless the game pronounces it each time you start up. It leads off the main theme.

The IOS Ace Attorney compilation is probably the worst version of those games, you'd be better off trying the WiiWare versions, or the standalone version of the first game for IOS.

Of course, the hard-to-find DS versions are obviously ideal, but it's understandable why you wouldn't want to go that route. As a huge AA fan, I'd be stoked if you played them at all, but yeah, that IOS compilation is kind of a poor version.

Also, I would buy a shirt with "This is your brain on anime" with the image Alex described.

I imagine if he did an anime he'd just go all out and do something Shigurui style.

I went in on Danganronpa blind, just because of the VLR + Ace Attorney comparisons, and I have been enjoying it so far (just finished the second trial, which I thought I had figured out, but there were some neat twists). I'm enjoying it for the same reasons that Patrick described, it's a goofy anime "whodunnit" with some cool mechanics. And the silly bear is pretty likeable, even his voiceover (very much like the rabbit Zero Jr. from VLR). What's up with all these murder games being run by robot/holographic animals?!?!

I finished Tropical Freeze a couple days ago after recently buying a Wii U, I really liked it. HD DK + no waggle + challenging platforming + amazing soundtrack (it really is great!) = a fun time for me.

p.s. The whole anime editor Patrick "going into the anime warzone" conversation made me laugh so goddamn hard.

My suggestion, law-wise: The amount of money you've spent over the history of any free-to-play game should be visible on the title screen every time you start the game.

When it comes to entertainment, the only way to not be a jerk is like what you like and dislike what you dislike. Deciding whether it's okay to like or dislike something based off popular consent is truly pathetic. I love anime, and I don't care what the consensus is.

I know of the Baccano novels but they're not available for Kindle. If they were I'd check them out.
