Regarding the Walking Dead spoiler chat, seems like the TellTale guys took a page out of the AMC show book and had

1) boring storylines

2) people doing shit just because the story has to get somewhere

3) horrible characters you just wish would all die

It wasn't my destiny to enjoy Destiny, but to survive it..

So, I take it they removed the Rihanna performance from that football game to avoid any sort of unwanted outburst from her during the show regarding the recent domestic violence issues with that one player?

I found that playing Destiny on hard was making things a little more tense and a little more enjoyable.

Say what you will about that Paul McCartney track, it fits right in with the self-serious earnestness of Bungie's tone. Whether or not that's to your tastes is another matter entirely.

With years of development time and 500 MILLION DOLLARShow did Destiny end up so poorly put together with such weird design decisions?

This is exactly how I felt about Halo. For years I just assumed that there was something wrong with ME, but now...I don't know. I don't know. Halo was a competent shooter with a kind of goofy, self-serious story in a sterile environment. And the multiplayer was cool because there wasn't really anything else like it at the time, right? Right? Having said all that, I only played the first three.

The Paul McCartney song isn't that bad, guys.

Is it great, like his last album, New, from a year ago? No. But it goes with the seriousness of Destiny.

Paul McCartney is one of the last aging rock stars I'll still see, and I look forward to hearing some of the new material played live, too (and I have).

That number is probably a huge part of the problem; as a game gets more and more expensive, the budgeters and focus groups get more and more control over the design of a game. I wouldn't be surprised if Destiny went through the same process.

Can't disagree more with Season 2 stuff. Really loved it.

Yeah that Macca song is a huge mess. Sounds like he's doing U2 (AKA horrendous, plus Macca tho minus The Edge.) It is just not good at all, too bad - his last album was pretty good. I guess it reflects Destiny...hyper clinical and over produced.

Also at least FIFA is great this year, actually it is a big step up from the last gen version of last year's game (the one I played.)

I don't know why so many people keep claiming they had 500 Million Dollars to develop, they refuted that statement back at the end of June

Did I miss a further update or did most people miss that update, even looking online it sounds like they only spent 6.7 million on the TV Ads so I'd have to imagine that the total budget is probably a lot less than 500 Million

The song is fine and everyone is overreacting! It sounds exactly like a Beatles or Wings track and reminds me of Live or Let Die (only not nearly as good). It may not fit the tone of the game but if you watch anime... Your used to it.

@mr_creeper: I don't think they were afraid of what she might do (as if it would be her fault) but it's just a bullshit PR move to not have the leading icon in celebrity beat downs come perform at your football game where a guy beat his wife.

To me whether it was right for them to do that or not is another discussion but, from a business standpoint, it makes sense. You really wouldn't want to deal with the fallout of her going off the schedule of her performance to give a speech on the topic while still tackling the main issue you've got going on right now with this player.

Yeah, she might not have. I don't really follow her, so I've no idea about her personality and how outspoken she is. Has you pointed out, though, I think most people would if given the chance.

Just listed to this Destiny track on Youtube and i don't see what the fuss is about. Sure it rips off other big orchestral pieces(mainly Halo, some it reminded me of Dark Void or any work by John Williams) but it sounds alright.

Okay now i get it, that's a weird song for a video game. Still doesn't sound that bad, IMO.

Wow... They trash Season Two. I don't really agree entirely with them. I don't know, I loved it. It's unfortunate they didn't like it all that much. They have some weird opinions about it. I just didn't love the very end choices, none of them were entirely satisfying, and I agree with Alex on them.
