One thing.. and I don't mean to bitch... nor to be a vocabulary Nazi.
But you guys are using the phrase "much better than it has any right to be" far, faaaar too often, and it doesn't always fit nor does it really make any sense. "much better than anyone expected it to be", "much better than the average", so many options for you guys to chose from.

I also wish puppeteer had a better game complimenting its visuals. I started it a few weeks ago, but I really haven't found any pressing reason to go back to it.

I am very confused--what are they talking about at the 10:00-14:45 part???

Sessler being a child because he is not getting private access to a ps4 until 13th Nov launch event now he trying to pressure them into giving him one, by creating a bunch of fake bad PR for sony thats why was using twitter and not email. I lost all respect for the guy nothing but a cry baby.

I think "the bullshit machine" is the perfect term for what's going on right now concerning the PS4/XBO. I'm stealing that.

This past weekend sure was a bomb.

It is standard practice for all review outlets to get consoles ahead of their official street date in order to provide coverage/content for the device that people desire to see around the time of its launch. By having to wait and potentially have difficulty acquiring the machine his job becomes that much harder and frustrating. As a long time very high profile and well respected games media person his outlet by all rights should be treated the same as others.

Think about it for a second, if GB was in the same position and we had to wait say a week, maybe even a month before they can do/show/talk about ANYTHING concerning the PS4 due to not having a PS4 would that not be really irritating and unfortunate? would you and millions of GB fans not be constantly shouting "hey guys wheres the coverage?" This is the potential scenario Adam and Rev3 games is in now.

Right when my question is asked the stream crashes and burns....my luck!

I missed this live due to the time change here in the UK I hope GB remembers it has changed so that correct times are put up for any of their live stuff.

@lazyaza: And giant bomb will probable not get them until late ether this is launch these things a full of stuff thats the paints still not dry on. PR will be controlling the message until launch as best they can their not going to block access to him or any other site but only a hand full of site get cherry picked cos they will agree to not do certain things. rev3games coverage of e3 was bad sesslers been getting the same access his choice to be very down beat towards it all which is fine his view he trust MS more than Sony currently. PR people cant exploit that he gets put in the all camp doesnt give him the right to start trying to publicly use twitter to cause a fake stir 1000s peoples jobs require both these consoles to work right and be successful so he posts a few videos late big whoop

I genuinely appreciate Patrick's fair and level-headed take on the whole cryptic-tweets/apocalyptic-rumors saga. There's not much of that elsewhere.

Actually Liu Kang & Katana were the only actors that stayed the same in the 2nd MK movie. They recast Raiden, Sonya, Johnny Cage and I think even Jax. I think that first movie is my favourite video game movie ever.

Edit: Also I'm just glad to know that whatever was going on during the weekend is looking like it won't really effect Giant Bomb. I'm guessing Sessler and maybe some of those others wish they didn't tweet anything because I doubt they wanted it to turn into this big thing that they couldn't/didn't want to talk about.

It is a shame all outlets aren't treated equal. Though I can understand why they aren't. The only outlet I've seen talk about having a PS4/Xbox One and are playing games is IGN, big shock. But whenever GB and other sites I like to visit get their coverage out I'll watch it.

Just got Puppeteer for $2.11. Hope it's worth it!

I think Puppeteer gets better in the later levels. You get more masks/powers, levels get more complicated but in a fun way, and the boss battles are just epic. Yes the story is simple but the characters are cool, partialy because of the great voice work.

Good on Patrick for calling out the Sess a little bit there. He is a good man but leveraging his popularity with apocalyptic, vague tweets in order to gain earlier access to review consoles (supposedly thast's what he was raging about) rubbed me the wrong way. Either be clear about what you're saying or don't speak up at all. That shitstorm was not necessary. People thought the gaming world as we know is about to end. But nope, it's still the same old monkey business.

Speaking of which, hey, Patrick, as far as IGN and early access goes... you don't need to be coy about what everyone knows. Reaching a big audience is one part, that wouldn't explain why other outlets won't get early review consoles sent to them, however. It's the simple fact that IGN's coverage will be very positive, guaranteed, always. It's often part of the deal even. And I can imagine Giantbomb's position on these "send stuff early"-lists is not very high since you guys are rather unpredictable and honest, publishers don't like that. We love you for it though. ;)

I don't know why people think the MK: Annihilation is so bad compared to the first. I always liked the second one more because it had more MK characters in it and that's all I really wanted from a MK movie lol.

The special effects were horrific in both movies.

I've watched a lot of wrestling but I have never heard the term "fuck finish" in my life.

Giantbomb won't get the new consoles early. They didn't get the WiiU early either as far as I can remember. They order it or walk into the store on release day just as everyone else.

Publishers, or platform manufacturers in this case, like to send their stuff to predictable outlets.

I was really hoping that Patrick's connection problem would resolve with an image of him standing in the corner facing the wall and then cut to black...

Yep. So maybe keep that in mind when the first next gen reviews hit. I'm not saying "Everybody who got a PS4 early is on the take" or something stupid like that just.....keep it in mind.

@cptbedlam: They did get a Wii U early. They just didn't publish reviews until after release because some games, ZombiU in particular, had online elements that weren't available until after the Day 1 patch.

Certainly not money exchanging but assigned dedicated personal that are playing to a fanbase of that black box and you get a site that start saying dumb stuff like 1080p and 720p are the same upscaling fixes that. btw its the same if your on a very small screen tv at your desk writing that or not knowing said company showed you game running on native 720p tv and the upscaler isnt running.

Does anyone else notice Patrick often sighs, pauses, then says some blunt statement. I'm actually listening to the Friday show, but it seems to happen a lot. It just sticks out to me in the same way certain people say "like" very frequently. Doesn't bother me that much, I just focus on it every time it happens.

When I first read his tweets, I thought it was the end of the world for games journalists or something.

Then I saw Jeff respond to it and realized Sessler was overreacting. I seriously love the guys work, but this just seems like things blown out of proportion. Yeah, it's a bummer you're not getting things early. But you're entire life as a game journalist possibly being over? I doubt it.
