This show is still great, but I really, really hate Google's new thumbnails there at the bottom. The flickering back and forth is horribly distracting. I really dislike Google's knack for ruining perfectly functional things rather than fixing busted up features (see: Chrome's main page, all of Youtube ever).

My worst experience in an airport was dislocating a rib by leaning too far out my car window and spending the next 6 hours on a plane wondering if I broke a bone or punctured a lung.

@noelveiga: I had to minimize the window and just listen to it after a few minutes. So distracting.

Didn't care for resolution-gate "discussion" or whatever that was. Alex getting so mad at people talking about resolution he spouts how "It doesn't matter, at all!" and "I'm so sick of it!"

What exactly is the problem if people discuss it, especially those looking to invest in console hardware? ? It's an advantage like any other, and the PS4 is the more powerful console so that should be discussed just as any Xbox One advantage should be.

I like hearing you two analyzing differences without getting all dramatic and completely unable to talk about those differences.

Great show today. The conversation about Brothers is exactly how I feel about Dark Souls. Like how it takes a while to warm up to the mechanics but at some point it clicks, how the design doesn't compromise with the player, how the tone and setting are well-crafted.

Just thought that was interesting since they're wildly different games that both have elegant designs.

I don't really get it either. I don't get how framerate was such a huge topic for the staff last year but resolution isn't. They both sit in the same category to me.

For certain. There are increasingly fewer games that truly dedicate themselves to their atmospheres. Too many of them go out of their way to remind you that you're playing a videogame.

On the topic of Zelda games, that's definitely the reason I resented Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword; all the tutorialization just takes away from the atmosphere (and Wind Waker too, but it wasn't as severe yet). It doesn't feel like those games come from a vision, but from a marketing check-box at times. Majora's Mask was the last Zelda game to truly feel like an adventure for me.

Why Nintendo bother? ... Nintendo its being all about deceiving marketing all along.

I wouldn't worry about that Forza season pass unless you have the money to throw around because a lot of the cars will be stuff you probably don't care about. I think for these games buying individual cars or car packs is the way to go. As a pretty huge Forza fan that's just my take on it. I sure as hell can't wait to play this game though. Best looking next gen game in every aspect through my eyes. Great show guys, I look forward to it every monday and friday. Love yall, peace.

@patrickklepek I rolled my ankle last year pretty fucking bad and the doctor basically said "Welp, here's some 1000mg ibuprofen and buy an ankle support wrap and/or cane. That's all I can do. Good luck."

When I had that ankle support wrap on (this), it would fit into my leather dress boots and it made me feel way less shitty and worried I'd do more damage. I wore this for a month then switched to an ace bandage wrap.

I did not feel 100 percent for about 6-8 weeks.

It doesn't really break down that easily dude. It isn't that simple. Saying resolution is irrelevant is silly. Saying resolution is everything is silly too. As is saying power is everything. Same thing with 'it's all about the games!'. All of these things and more play roles in the success of a system.

Love this show. If Dave Lang will play some games with Pascual he should totally do a thing with Patrick next year. Could probably get Max and more Chicago people in on it too as I'm guessing it's going to be even more popular next year. Very excited for Patrick to be in SF next week, when Jeff told us that he was coming during the 24 hour marathon the chat blew up with SCOOOOOOOOOOOOPS! :D

I don't think the reason CoD: Ghosts doesn't run well on the consoles isn't because of the console launches, because it runs like crap on PC as well despite the games graphics looking on par with the previous CoD game.

It uses 6 GB of memory and requires 40GB of HD space, much more than for previous titles, no idea why but it sure isn't the high-res textures.

I read that tweet(on the GB main page here, I don't have twitter) about him breaking his toes. I physically cringed because I have done that before. One toe is half numb now, and I broke my big toe bone completely in half once by having a heavy table separate and come down like a guillotine while I was stupidly man-handling it through the front door. It hurt so bad I felt it was truly on fire/burning up, and I held it under the tub spigot in the bathroom while suppressing a yell. Such a dumb but logically consistent move! So bizarre to watch the edge of the solid wood table guide down by gravity to directly on the toe.

So when do the supposed archives of all the last weekend start going up?

Very little of the resolutiongate discussion going on in the community has anything to do with the resolution, unfortunately.

I think living in a gaming bubble gives these "console wars" more weight than they actually have. I'm not buying either as I feel console gaming is on its last legs. I have a tone of current gen. games I need to play and I'm more excited about the possibility of a reasonably priced upgradable Steam machine in the future.

@ehker: I find it annoying the way everybody in the game press is always huffing about people interested in resolution and taking an interest in these things.

Power doesn't matter? The games only matter? Then why aren't we still playing PS1 games?

But it's always "EUUUUUGHHHHH these people in love with corporations that don't care about them. BLAAAAAH I'm so above it all."
