The Bombcast made it sound less interesting than it actually was....Oh, that looks like tedious boring shit for sure, but I expected worse.

Destiny just continues to make me shake my head and ask, "why".

I don't know what it is about this game, but it is really boring to watch other people play it.

It sounded really out of sync to me too.

So is this the raid? Or some prep for the raid?

This was a lot of fun to watch live, but it certainly had rough patches. The stealth sequence and the first person platforming section looked to be the WORST. If there is anything I hate in a game, it's first person platforming. Ugh.

The funny thing is, if you know what you're doing, you can run this in no time. I watched a youtube video where they did the final boss in less than 17 minutes. And they wiped twice on it as they were bringing a few people through who had not done it. On hard. So it is way beatable when you know the puzzle.

Oh and you can cheese it too with a Sunsinger. It's really funny. You use solar grenades to make Atheon fall off the edge of his initial spawn point. They'll probably patch it soon. But until then, fun times...

Is there any story behind what the players do in this raid?

I sure hope they were raidy for this!

Poor Jeff.

It's pretty amazing to watch you guys go through with no knowledge of these encounters and start to figure it out. Even on my first time we had a raid leader that patiently explained what we should be doing. It was super helpful and made for a much smoother raid experience, but on some level I kinda wished I had attempted it at least once completely blind.

Brad seems a lot smarter with the audio being out of sync, he just analyses everything so fast or even ahead of time.

Setting the audio delay in your player's options to 3850ms fixes the desync. I'm sorry I'm not providing a detailed instructions on how to do that, but I have no idea how all that technical stuff translates to English :(

P.S. I'm using Media Player Classic.

Any reason you weren't using partt chat? Unlike the terrible Destiny in game voice you can at least adjust the audio levels.

Nevermind, I should learn to watch before commenting.

I feel kinda bad for anyone that gets sucked into Destiny's endgame vortex.

I watched the whole thing live. The sneaking around section was so frustrating. If anything this makes me not want to do the raid at all when I go up a couple more levels.

Once had Brad, and it was a gas!

This looks incredible boring.

I watched a lot of this as it happened, then again on the Twitch archive to see how it ended, now i'll download and watch this.

Destiny is as empty as Disney's grave but damn if i don't find it strangely compelling viewing.

The audio is out of sync of me as well.

The fuzzy chat audio makes it sound like real military chatter.

i watched this on stream, it was cool to see people trying to figure it out. my first time we had a couple people who had somehow already got it down to a science.

Dudes! When am I going to find time to even watch this? Breaking Brad is probably one of my least favorite features but this definitely looks like a must watch. I've only managed the first half hour so far and it seems pretty cool. I never thought I'd see the day that Giant Bomb would have too much content to consume regularly. you would think people on the video game industry would know more about the raid but they completely skipped 3 chest they should have asked the chat about things and got some tips.

7 hours. You guys are crazy. I didn't even spend that much time (consecutively) learning new raids in WoW with my guild.

@brad: Pro tip: Since I'm still at the beginning of the video I can't be sure if this is addressed but concentrate fire on the praetorians first since they are the only enemy that can take sync plates at the beginning.

I like the times when Brad looks straight into the light of an oracle and does nothing, or even runs away from it. Good times :)

Yeah I find the parts with the endless spawning and shooting unbearable. Its more interesting for me when they're trying to get from A to B but getting lost or dying falling off a cliff.

Doing the Raid was some of the most fun I had all year with games. It's a lot more fun to play than it is to watch. Especially figuring stuff out.

Sorry guys but can I ask a super dumb question here? can someone explain the rough concept of a "raid"?

I am just so not an RPG/MMO guy at all. I have an idea of what they are but have zero experience or real knowledge of them. I get that its a unique event kinda thing but this just looks like an FPS co-op mission to me? I realise I am missing something.
