i bought it. It's pretty damn awesome. Its very plot heavy. Very serious and dark. The fiction of dead space is compelling, at least to me, so its great to see the story get fleshed out more. EA doesnt pull any punches. You see a surprisingly large number of people kill themselves onscreen. You see characters descend slowly, or quickly, into madness and you are repeatedly forced to kill your own comrades (not a spoiler, it starts happning about 3 minutes in). In alot of ways i would say it darker and more mature than something like doom, which i am also a huge fan of. At times it feels like you are in the middle of the movie event horizon.

This is really a great mature game on the wii and not some gratuitous thing like madworld was. I think fans of Dead Space or Doom  will really like this title.

Just like with the Halo franchise Dead Space just won't flush. It was a fun ride, and EA has put a hell of a lot of money invested in with the marketing, but how many iterations do we really need?

" "It's gonna be the same every time you play it" You mean like the majority of video games? Like Batman: Arkham Asylum? Or Metroid Prime? Does that make these bad games? I don't think so. You're review for this game was greatly underwhelming, Brad. We really need you to do less games on Nintendo consoles because the scores you give them seem to almost always just be off. I mean hell you gave Infamous a 5 star review, and that game is a pile of bad game designs. "
Yes but since half the game is already instanced and played out for you, it should have opened up opportunity after oppurtunity for EA to have created a plethora of variation in every other regard, after all if they don't have to worry about freedom of movement at all (IMO the hardest part to nail...that's what she said), well.. because there ISN'T any, then what are they spending their time developing? Oh...yeahhh make sure those visuals are the best you've ever seen on the Wii. Great, now how bout some game to go with that art?

But as Brad said there isn't any variation on how the story will turn out, so you can see how it's even more so then others the same every time you play it and Brad has reason for saying so. If i'm going to point and click, there had better be some damned story/gameplay changes! See Lucasarts.... 20 years ago.

And hey, no quarrels here with what you said on AA and MP. Was never a fan of either.

If there's anything i hate more then being 'guided' in a game, well ill be damned

Well lets put it this way. It was the best game last year and the best new IP in years.

This game is really good as a rental. One of the better on-rail shooters I've played.

I think I will head to the ol' blockbuster (as long as it is still there) and give this a rent.

It starts out at the beginning? You don't say.
