Pretty, but overall not all that exciting. The tank combat would have been interesting if there was more variation, if you actually drove around. The entire tank sequence looked like an "on rails" shooter, didn't have much freedom to go booking around or anything, just move in a straight line, stop, shoot. Move in a straight line, stop, shoot. Also, regenerating health? What happened to engineers and repairs... :( Would really like to see how the infantry portion of the game plays out, if there is still classes and teamwork, or if they went the way of the popular shooter with re-genning health and lone wolfing.

Where did you get the "regenerating health" from? He's running god mode in the demo (would be awkward to have to restart the demo midway through). Don't worry, there won't be regen health.

Yeah, a bit slow for an E3 demo, I was expecting a helicopter or jet sequence... this was kinda on the boring side. But it looked amazing and I am sure I will enjoy playing it.

Alright we get that you have a graphically impressive single player campaign. Now start showing us the multiplayer.

There really is not anything quite like the Battlefield series.  I hope everyone here realizes that Battlefield's strength is in its multiplayer with combined arms(ie: infantry/tanks/planes/helos/ships) all going at each other over massive 64 player maps. Not in its single-player.  Actually, I hope DICE realizes this. They kind went in the wrong direction in toning down the epicness in BC and BC2. :(

Totally agree they need to show more MP and freaking jets imagine if they showed bombing some one on tall building with the destruction they should be showing shit like that not freaking tanks.

pretty but really boring.

I'm glad they showed this bit of the game. It sends the message that this is not Modern Warfare. MW has completely blown immersion and pacing out the window in favor of over-the-top popcorn action. Exciting moments aren't very exciting when they're stacked one on top of the other.

Looks really nice... on a high end gaming PC with DX11. Pretty telling that they still won't show what the console version really looks like. Deceptive and unethical that they don't have 'PC build' watermarked on the gameplay. I don't believe for a second there aren't huge swathes of console players who actually believe BF3 will look like this on 360/PS3 as a result.

I haven't seen the above video but if it's exactly the same as the live E3-demo there was even a pic-in-pic shot of Patrick Bach playing the game with mouse and keyboard. I don't see how this is deceptive in any shape or form.

I was talking more about the run up to E3 including that EA promo feature that showed all PC footage but was full of 360 controllers/console features and 360 cover art.

I saw a video, that may or may not be official, that has the PC/PS3 watermark showing just how much console footage was really in that gameplay trailer Riccitello was talking about. From what I can see the PS3 "footage" was one still shot of a street and a prerendered cutscene. Why boast about having console footage in there if it's not even real gameplay?

@Majestic_XII: Got the regenning health from the tank.. it'd get tagged hard, life the first shot right in the face, and he'd get a WARN light flashing for a bit, that would slowly fade out. Also later on near the end he takes a few rocket hits, wich bring up the warn light again, wich stays after targets are dead and slowly fades out again, so in this section it would go to figure there is Regenerating tank health. I'm just hoping it isn't going to be a staple thing. *shrugs* my hope and opinion on it.

I really would like to see what this is going to look like on console because I'm pretty sure my PC is not going to be able to pull this off.

You actually have control over the tank. A WASD tooltip comes up when you get in the driverseat. The fact that they just drive in a straight line and then stop to shoot is pretty obvious since they're driving through a huge open desert towards an objective. The class system from the multiplayer won't factor in the singleplayer the same way that CoD doesn't have perks and leveling up in it's singleplayer. "Teamwork" in singleplayer yeeeeah you'll always be driving/running around with a "team" so to speak but all the "teamwork" in the singleplayer will just be scripted because they're bots.

20 more years guys. Just 20 more years until either they figure out a way to get your consciousness into the machine, or the machine into you.
