Old Games: Encyclopedia Bombastica: Target Earth

I love this series, but I disagree with Jeff about the music: I'm finding it highly irritating. It's going round and round in my head!

Another cool game I have never seen before. Keep this feature going strong.

This is some Gundam-ass non-Gundam stuff.

There were moments where the music was seriously reminding me of Sky Sanctuary in S3&K. One of the best Sonic songs ever, by the way.

Stages' end theme is the same as the end stage theme of Streets of Rage 2; I swear it.

The music reminds me of Gunstar Heroes, one my my favourite Gen games.

You can always tell when a game is a Sega Genesis title by the music.

Jeff needs to make a list (or a video similar to this) of his favourite Genesis soundtrack's. I need more wailing guitars in my life!

Does @Jeff have tweetdeck open or is that the soundtrack? I keep checking my tweetdeck every time I hear that notification sound, but no one tweets me. :(

I had this game.... My mother gave my Genesis and all of my games away to charity about 10 years ago :(

I only had the loose cart, not the original box or any manuals.

Really love this, very interesting to see. I was pretty limited on the games I played in this era, so I'm really enjoying seeing what I missed!

Do we really need 50 minutes of Target Earth? No. How about shorter quick looks and more of them?

This is an incredible looking and sounding game. I wish I'd have known about it in my youth. I had a Mega Drive, but nothing I really enjoyed playing on it.

This morning I was singing a song from a game and I was, wtf am I singing and then I realized it was from this song. I've only watched this video of this game and already the song is in my mind.

Wow what a great game. I didn't even realize this existed as I never had a Genesis as a kid; only a SNES. This makes me want to buy one to see what other greats I've missed.

It's not every day that you get to see the complete game in a quick look.

@Shaanyboi: I tried to watch this video while having lunch at home, and because of the game audio volume, I had to turn it off.

So happy you're doing this Jeff. I know I'm in the minority but the one thing I've longed for from GB isn't more coverage of new games/varied genres, but QLs of old classics.

God damn, Jeff, this feature is so awesome. I wish I knew about this game when I was a kid, because I would have been all over it.

I'm definitely getting a Zeta Gundam vibe, from all the land and space battles and entering the atmosphere and colonies. One of those character portraits looks like General Revil from the original Gundam, too.

The order has been placed. This will go excellently with my new Sega Genesis. It's a good day.

I really enjoy the music, especially at about the 19 minute mark.
