@bslayer: It was just the Guard robot I think, cool Dart pic btw.

Anyway here's a tip take the Prism Helm off of Byla, it's just wasted if it's not equipped to the main party, and also give Brog the Hero Medal so the Masamune'll be even more bad ass...

That is all.

I agree with Patrick.

I enjoy the films of Auguste and Louis Lumiere greatly. Without their work, we may not have had the films we know and love today.

Man, I thought these guys are kinda screwing themselves out of my favorite part of the game, which is the variety of attacks you can do.

And now they've discovered Luminaire...

Man, the music of Chrono Trigger is so damn good. I might track down one of those various symphonic remix albums or whatever and then delete it in a month because who listens to video game music more than once? But still.

yea why would you listen to music written by a human being musical composer that some company happened to put in an 'electronic video game' afterwards. it's not the same as other musical notes written on paper by other human beings that isn't later used in a specific entertainment context. if those notes yasunori mitsuda wrote down were never placed in a video game cartridge it wouldn't be 'video game music' and then it would automatically be listenable more than once and one could enjoy its considerable merits as musical composition for years and years

patrick is prob saying 'lumiere' french for light which makes more sense than just leaving out a letter for no reason etc

Why isn't there a "like" function for comments like this?

About 75% of the music I listen to on a daily basis is video game music. The genre (if you can even call such a diverse sample of music that) is so expansive and deep in its styles and executions that you could listen days and not hear two things that sound the same.

It's "Luminaire" as in someone made of light not "Lumière" (my first word) which is the French word for light.

Also, in the present, annoyance is a disease... just like snotty rich kids (i.e. Batrick Klepeck).

Yes, and if not specificallly from a video game, I often found out about it from one - Fluke and Leftfield from the Wipeout 2097 soundtrack, Download (Ogre of Skinny Puppy's side project) from Descent 2, Nine Inch Nails from Quake 1, and a lot more.

They got three prism helms, three of the best helms in the game. Then, they put them on Brono, Barle, and Bobo. Currently, they are using only one of the three people who have the helm equipped.

I love their ability to ignore new NPC dialogue. New items in 65,000,000 BC? Whatever, talk to the trader in the village and disregard what he says.

Their accessory use has gotten somewhat better, but man, that Hit Ring being on anyone other than Lucca or Marle is still baffling.

Well, glad they have more fun in this episode now that they can cheese every fight with Luminaire. Reminds me of you could cheese every fight in Skies of Arcadia with Lambda Burst (which you had to, because the encounter rate in that game was RIDICULOUS, and the non-boss enemies weren't even interesting to fight or look at).

I know this is super late, but I'm pretty sure the "person close to you" always just meant "talk to your party members in the End of Time for more specific hints on where to start each of these sidequests".

It isn't Lara because she's technically wrapped up in the Fiona desert sidequest, and I just don't think it's Queen Leene (or did you mean Queen Zeal?). Whichever Queen you meant, your party is not particularly close (literally or figuratively) to either of them. I guess Queen Zeal is technically Magus' step-mother, but that's still a huge stretch.

@bisonhero: How is Lara wrapped up in the desert stuff? Been too long for me to be able to remember. And, I seem to remember reading somewhere after I made that post that "someone close to you" line was basically a mistranslation and was fixed in the DS version. I forget what it was changed to in the DS version, but it was basically supposed to mean what you said, I think.

The campfire reminisce + Lucca's special time portal back to her childhood always happens after that story moment when you get Robo back from Fiona's Shrine. So it's sort of the conclusion of that quest line, meaning that Lara isn't given how own quest listing when you talk to Gaspar.

And yeah, the DS replaces that entirely, because it fixes a bunch of the dialogue. Man, that DS translation fixes soooooo many item and ability names.

@bisonhero: Oh yeah, had slipped my memory about it happening at the end of the desert stuff. I think when I originally played the game on the SNES years ago I thought it was Lara because of how he says something like, "find this person fast," then you being able to fail at the Lara stuff if you don't enter the code fast enough.

@metalbaofu: Yeah, I think a zillion people thought that. That original translation is just so unclear or unintentionally misleading in a lot of ways. I wonder if "find this person fast" was a mistranslation of "talk to your party members first/immediately", to try to emphasize that you should do that instead of immediately facing Lavos. Then it got mistranslated as talk to people with "speed" instead of make it a "priority" to talk to people.
