Loving this but it's really hard to see anything when its nighttime as its too dark at times. It's not like that when I play the game on my TV.

This. This! One hundred times this! Sucks that this whole Endurance Run is already in the can before they could get feedback because Dan is kind of ruining it for me. Under other circumstances Alex and Vinny would be doing some hilarious riffs about this dialogue and jank instead of ignoring it to do a video podcast with Dan.

I wonder if they ever figure out that the "Training" option in Ryo's bedroom is a "free" (you don't have to spend time actually practicing moves) stat upgrade that you can take every day. I wonder if they ever figure out that you HAVE stats.

When watching videos of people playing video games, the only thing that annoys me more than the hosts not talking about the game is when they get so caught up in not talking about the game that they idle it. The Let's Play equivalent of dead air on radio.

@zabant: I think it's compounded by them getting distracted by conversations. Also without using the zoom/examine function they're not recognising places they've already been.

Pretty sure they'll find the bar next ep though, they have the whole in-game day before it opens after all.

Its understandable that their minds and thoughts are wandering while playing this game. Its boredom in its purest form, at least the banter makes watching it worth it.

Regarding BYOB restaurants: I've been to them in Massachusetts and Connecticut as well. I think Vinny is on the right track about the blue laws, we've got some backwards ass liquor laws in the northeast.

Maybe we could make a list of all the things people wonder if they will ever find. We could check them off as we go. I haven't played this game so I don't know.

Find the tilt(?) is this different from zoom?

Find a map/ find their way around/ not get lost (?)

@kasaioni: I don't recall Vinny and Jeff having off long, rambling off-topic conversations during the Persona run. They seemed comparitiely very focused. Their jokes and comments were about the game. Going from memory here. I'm sure there was other conversation.

I prefer that system. Maybe that's the way Jeff plays? He was also a million times more focused with Brad on the Hitman video than Vinny and Dan or Brad and Dan.

I understand others don't agree and I'm not meaning I don't appreciate the work they did to churn this game out. I do appreciate it.

Maybe the conversation was partly because they played for so many hours straight? Doesn't matter, still glad they did this.

@kasaioni: To be perfectly honest with you I stopped watching Metal Gear Scanlon near the end of MGS2. I love Drew's reactions but that alone was not enough of a novelty to keep me interested. That's just me.

I think once Dan gets to NYC permanently there's going to be a time where Dan and Alex goes at it behind the scenes. I to do believe he's feigning ignorance, but its getting to be a little too much. It's one thing to not know what a fig is. But he's started to ask questions that a 2nd grader should know. If this is not the case, then it goes back my statement that he and Alex are going to clash at some point. Alex just started to sound irritated already makes me feel, if Dan keeps this up, the NYC office could implode sometime down the line.

@mezmero: There were definitely many times where they'd be talking about what movies they had both seen, while the game was telling them where they needed to go next, which resulted in them being immediately confused about where to go next.

The game has so far been exceptionally slow and boring. I'd have checked out already if not for the banter. I hope they continue to talk about everything except Shenmue for the rest of the series. I appreciate the extra, daily Beastcast.

FYI the BART tunnel is underground. It isn't in the water.

I thought Alex was going to murder Dan for a split second during Structural Engineering Chat Minute, which bodes well since this is only part 4.

I checked a walkthrough. Apparently, you win at pool by tapping right 17 times.

You guys, I don't think Shenmue holds up very well.

Dan promised that the first screen we would see would be a dancing Tom. This was a lie.

Cancelling my premium membership immediatly. I'm here for dancing Tom.

Yeah though the game kind of wants you to start doing side stuff like the arcade, or the kitten, or visiting Fuk-san. By trying so hard to mainline it, they are missing the stuff that was intended to fill the gap. I mean I guess I am sure a lot of people played it that way, but some of the best content is there.

You guys never try to use that flashlight you bought.
