What did they say on the Beastcast, are these really the final videos in the series?

i hate every single NPC in this game. I don't know how you guys don't cringe every time Trevor or his friend open their mouths, it's unbearable

Im surprised they haven't been just cranking out heists since GTA Online is making a bajillionty dollars a day for them.

Dang, last episode coming up? Guess Vinny's "15 episodes or so" was just an estimate, when he said that in the introduction episode.

@fake_empire: There's one next week for sure. Whether that's the final heist I'm not sure though.

They were saying this is the last heist - are they not doing the big bank job? That's the best one! I have to see Dan losing his shit doing crowd control in the bank! :D

I'm surprised that Dan does not know about the ragdoll button in GTA V.

There's still one more heist missing, folks, and it's got 5 setup missions, too. I'd estimate there are at least 3 more episodes coming.

Rockstar really just phoned in the end of that heist :( I guess the fact Trevor was part of it was meant to be the highlight.

There wasn't.t even a cool little celebration scene for the heist crew.

"No, you weren't standing in the right place, then you went out of bounds, also you have to be in this truck to get these radar notifactions, also you changed into the wrong lane and failed the mission because you were too far from the target."

It's like the worst caricature of the problem with the single player missions. What a waste of potential.

@jondo: that seems a pretty dramatic exaggeration (what is that lane changing example supposed to be referring to?), but then again I've literally never noticed that problem in any of their single player experiences.

I don't understand how people have all these issues with Rockstar mission design: just do the thing it tells you to do and you'll be fine.

@lemmox: I guess a big part of it is that GTA is the poster child for open world action games and yet their story missions are depressingly restrictive in the ways you can go about them.

It's fine.

@dave_tacitus: I don't think it's depressing, it's just a different design decision.

GTA isn't Just Cause, you can do all the crazy stuff you want in the open world but in the missions they want to take you through a cultivated, designed experience which they've clearly put a lot of work into getting just *so*.

If you accept that and play along, the reward is some of the best spectacle I've seen in gaming, period.

For reference, GTA Online is a prequel to what happens in the single player game. Story wise at least.

@lemmox: Fair enough, but an alternative way to run through a mission occasionally would be nice. We can all end up at the same cutscene.

@dave_tacitus: I've got nothing against open-ended mission design, but it's clearly not their style. They want to make sure you peak the crest of the hill just when the explosion they spent God knows how many man hours scripting and rigging goes off, and to make sure you're in just the right spot to see it.

I'm comfortable with that, and enjoy the results. When I'm looking for something different I play something different.

Mileage may vary, but I think if you really think about it, you CAN understand why people have issues with 'Rockstar Mission Design', it's pretty conspicuous.

This is the worst damn heist in this game, but soon they’ll get to the Michael Mann esque bank robbery extravaganza which is gonna be fun.

It's like that example Ben always gives from RDR2 where he was riding down a road with some people on a mission. Then he went off the trail to do some hunting he needed and got a mission failed, and for some reason that's frustrating. Of *course* you got a mission failed, you left the mission to go hunting lol. Why would you need to go hunting right THEN anyway? You're on a mission, just come back later. It doesn't even make sense logically, like you're riding with your friends mid-conversation and then you see a fox and go careening off into the wilderness? Lol

Most people's complaints seem to come from wanting their mission design to be something it not only isn't, but never has been, rather than enjoying it for what it is. And quite frankly I don't get why they'd want that, because it negates all the stuff that Rockstar Mission Design does incredibly well.

Oh my gosh Abby got rocked so hard by Dan.

I love this series, and almost without fail the treks to the mission itself are the highlights.

I didn't come to discuss the merits of R*'s mission design; we both know how we feel.

I was more taking issue with the "I don't understand people whomery", surely it's worth trying to, even if you disagree, especially as it's pretty reasonable.

@kentpaul: Who said I didn't try to understand? I said the exact opposite. In any case, I disagree on them being reasonable complaints. R* mission design is a known quantity at this point, and it's undeniable that they generally achieve what they set out to do.

These sorts of complaints are akin to going to a Korean restaurant, ordering Fish and Chips, and then complaining it isn't good. Well of course it's not good! If you wanted Fish and Chips why the heck are you in a Korean restaurant? I don't think those complaints are particularly reasonable - you will not enjoy *any* game if you keep trying to force it to be something it isn't - and my failure to understand them isn't due to a lack of trying, so much as me just finding them completely un-understandable.

Wait, that was it? I thought this coop heist thing was supposed to be a huge thing with a bunch of heists? What happened to that?

This might be the only time in this series where I wish they you had died more, lol.

This mission really seems anti-climatic, considering. It feels like there should have been a shootout with the FBI near the end. Or at least a car chase.

This show rules. ty ty ty.

I wish they would do more stuff real time with live chat or looking at videos between posting and recording the next. There is so much misunderstanding of mechanics that if understood could have meant for fun for them and a better video for us.

Maybe not possible with how much trouble they were having with GTA online, and while i agree it can be a little awkward i certainly never had that much trouble playing with my friends.

Still enjoying the series, and sorry to backseat produce :)

PS- There is a multiplayer mod for GTA5 called FiveM, There are many servers that run RPG life sim like things where you have total freedom.. I would LOVE to see @ybbaaabby do a sims style gta life thing :P.. that is all.

Man why even bother, I mean I know you recorded it and made breaks for episodes. But damn....
