There are multiple I Am Legend movies, fwiw. None are particularly faithful to the book but some are far more entertaining to watch than that Will Smith shitfest.

Vinny was right about Hot Fission being the next Tier in Satisfactory. Their roadmap says Nuclear power (and Trains!) are coming at the end of May

I'm terrible at fighting games, but still enjoy watching the NetherRealm story modes. A series where the crew play through MK 9, 10, and 11, or even the 2 Injustice games, would be pretty cool.

I don't know if it's a mic thing or something is making noise in the room Abby is in but there's kind of a 'whooshing' noise whenever she talks that you don't hear when the other talk. 48:13 and during that entire VR game section when the others are quiet is when it's very audible.

Talk about Heavens Vault and deciphering alien language just reminded me of Sethian.
I played it for less then a hour and was planning to finish it for sure, and totally forgot about it.
Really strange feeling to remember a game you wanted to finish a year later.

At first glance of the thumbnail, I thought it was depicting Dan projectile vomiting.

I'm glad Alex is taking a critical eye on Dangerous Driving. No idea how that game gets so much free good press, it looks busted as shit, and in no way an improvement on any of the burnout games the same team has made over 10 years ago.

Agree with Vinny, that XBOX SAD needs to be <200 or less. I'd also add that it should be redesigned to be physically smaller, if they can manage it.

The "shatterproof" phone Dan was talking about probably had some kind of plastic screen that won't shatter but is susceptible to scratching if you don't have a screen protector.

Yeah just heard it and that was painful, from pretty much all fronts as a fan of the series. I put nearly 400 hours into 5 and it was some of the most fun I can remember having in a game between the campaign co-op and warzone firefight.

I keep hearing from from some corners like Alex, that the Xbox One SADE is just to test the waters. At least Jeff B brought up how is this going to give any accurate data at all on the interest in a disc less console? There is literally zero reason at the moment to buy this over any other Xbox One S model.

Do agree with his Dangerous Driving stuff though. Jeff and Brad's quicklook video was very telling. Where Jeff was sure it was a $20 game till Brad had to correct him that it was $30. Not to say you need to go down a checklist with a title to justify it's value, but just the look, lack of modes, the whole Spotify thing, I don't get why it costs $30. None of Three Fields games have been all that great.

that halo take, yeesh. destiny 1 & 2 are mere shadows, imprints of how incredible halo 1-reach were and still are. they are incredibly important games for cultured fps aficionados. it's amazing that my most anticipated games are wow classic and halo pc. if they get 'em right i'll be spending thousands of hours in each of them again.

I have never even played a Halo game (was a Nintendo kid because of money), but even I can list 37 reason why Halo series is up there of pinnacle of gaming list. From the lore it has created, to the stories, the set-piece action, the multiplayer, and its countless innovation in the FPS environment for consoles (or even PC shooters that came later were heavily influenced by it)

That discussion was truly bizarre to hear, let alone by group of people who happen to be engulfed in gaming.

I've read at least 5 Halo books, it's a series where the lore is a huge part of the appeal. It was just so oddly dismissive. I get not understanding it, but it was weird that there was no push back.

Yeah, as a big fan of the beastcast that was an infuriating segment.

Personally, I just could not give a fuck about Halo and whether or not that series ever returns but I'm not going to sit there and say Halo has no lore. It just is not true.

Especially if you're gonna then go on about Destiny which was literally just glorified Halo leftovers to begin with.

I really wish Abby and (I would probably include Jeff in this too, to an extent) would be less reductive about things she isn't invested in or doesn't know anything about, because then she sometimes wonders why people get all up in arms over her comments.

It's never really what you say, even if people in comments can't quite articulate that distinction sometimes. It's always how you say it and the ways it comes across.

Which sometimes is really not great, it reminds me of listening to Dan from like 6+ years ago when he would be completely selfish and dismissive of everything. The amount he has grown over the years is actually pretty incredible considering how much worse he use to be.

All I know about Halo is the writing is early 2000s video game dumb, and the fans are weirdly obsessive about it.

I love Halo, I was the right age for it to hit me really hard. Looking back Halo's writing and story telling were dog shit. There's some decent characterization in it, but when I say decent, I mean for a video game.

What that series had going for it were its campaigns full of solid combat encounters, great score, some great set pieces and cool art design.

I think 343 hasn't really captured much of what made those games great and instead has been laying Halo over generic shooter ideas, instead of expounding and remixing what really made those games great.

These guys have played MK, and with it being the 11th in the series, they have a good idea of what is going to happen.

They are also not saying the audience should.

I think that ship might've sailed for Dan.

Thank god Dan grew out of that. The amount intentional provocation he did back then made me quit my premium and the whole site for a while. I don't really need more hot takes in my life.

8K is nothing more then the new PR buzzword. I'm so tired of both Microsoft and Sony promising higher resolutions instead of concentrating on making the games run good.

PS3 and 360 era promised 1080p games, but reality was only a handful of games achieved that (natively) while also running well. Most games where 720p or below. and even then ran like garbage.

PS4 and XBO era was all about 4K, and we still have the same problem as last gen, often its not achieved and when it is it still runs like garbage. Even performance modes that bump down to 1080p cant even hit 60fps stable.

Would love it if the new consoles would focus on actually hitting 60fps or above instead of chasing resolutions that the hardware cant handle. But they wont.
