@zoofame: yeah, now you'll be able to have more games on the Windows 10 store, and no longer have Win 10 exclusive versions like a couple Call of Duty games ago that could only play against Windows 10 players and not against Steam players.

Fun Fact, I don't buy into the Vinny conspiracy that MS and Valve are teaming up against the Epic store, but Tim Sweeny use to go on some pretty nice diatribes against UWP when it was announced. I care less about the Epic/Steam war, but this tweet is one of his recent ones.

It’s rather a bit Dan is doing or he thinks something political means current politics like from 2016. What no one told Dan is that actually everything in our society is politics. EVERYTHING. I think Dan interprets controversial as politics.

One more thing about Death Stranding and politics is that yes the game makes references to walls separating us and no doubt from what’s happening to America and the EU that will play a heavy part in the symbolism but an interview with Norman Reedus I want to say last year on a radio show actually gave the meaning behind the game. Kojima is more about focusing on the walls that social media has created, the whole game is an anti-technology message that we wall ourselves off and human connection is dying and that’s what will ultimately kill our planet. If you’ve ever seen the movie “Her” that is a good way to think about the meaning behind Death Stranding.

Also when Sam talks about returning the world with cables isn’t the answer to this as that’s what got the world of Death Stranding destroyed in the first place (paraphrasing obviously) then that just jumps more heavily into what Norman Reedus was saying. You can easily find this interview on YouTube.

There is 2 good things about Win32 API: old games, less native plugin problem for game developers.

With game pass on Windows, I think MS store might have a shot in staying relevant.

@danryckert is absolutely correct! Death Stranding looks great and the MG series has some of the best story in video games. Metal Gear is more philosophical than political.

The reality is, wordviews and beliefs permeate and affect views and decisions far more than people want to admit. And the only time we invoke the idea of "not being political" is towards worldviews and beliefs that are controversial and assume to be false. Trying so hard to avoid politics is itself political as a result lol. No disrespect for Dan, we're in a country that actively tries to cover it's ears about any worldview that isn't already the norm

Ah yes, a game about war, environmentalism, the break down of society with undertones/allusions to childbirth, the validity of identity, and displacement of people (whether it is literally people bending gravity & time or people living in the mountains for some reason)...not political at all.

I get so frustrated with the "Kojima can do no wrong" "Kojima is the best storyteller ever" He has great ideas but the man needs an editor to tell a "great" story. It is why I was so looking forward to PT, Kojima ideas with an actual storyteller/editor in Del Toro. Kojima is also a huge misogynist and has yet to show he has changed his views.
