Classic episode, great work!

Skid marks are totally underwear dependent, if you wear boxers you are much less likely to get them.

Bowser can’t be the king, that is the weakest, least threatening piece on the board. He has to be the queen. Peach should be the king for the bad team, save peach win the game. Toad should be the good team king, he is coordinating the princess saving effort (ya boy beats Mario to the end of every castle, never gets any respect) Luigi has to be the knight because it moves in an L. Yoshi should be the pawn as he is both useless and expendable. If a Yoshi gets to the end of the board instead of exchanging it for another piece the other piece mounts him.

I think the devs of Disco Elysium wanted to depart from the power gaming that can happen in other CRPG's. I think giving you a few more points from the jump would help you not feel so deprived in the early going.

I will say that my subsequent playthroughs of Disco have been VERY different in terms of what comes up though. Some tweaking would help I think.

On the subject of the Vader and Kenobi fight in A New Hope. This is a very good effort by a fan at making it a lot more exciting and dynamic.

Boy did this one go down some crazy roads, but I guess a lot of them do, and I haven't missed on yet.

100% agree with all the criticisms about Disco Elysium. The dialogue trees suck. Don't mark branches as completed until all sub-branches are. Other games have done it for years. It's not that difficult.

The dice rolls just aren't... fun? Or maybe they would be if they had bothered to write different texts or outcomes for how badly you fail or pass them. But having to constantly fiddle with gear every time you do something is just stupid.

Idk. For all the people raving about how you can do anything in that game, I find my options are severely constrained by the writers' limited imagination.

Boy, Jeff's gamer lingo list was some real 3am boys shit. Definitely wouldn't have made the cut via email. Dunking is good, dunking is fun.

Used furniture grosses me the fuck out. God only know what has happened on the $100 couch you got on craigslist. Dead skin cells and oil are best case scenario.

As someone who loves Star Trek but can barely tolerate Seth MacFarlane, would I enjoy The Orville?

I have the same feelings, and I couldn't get into it because he's front and centre of the show. I passed on it. I'd say give it a try though!

It’s cool that we all agree The Last Jedi is probably the best Star Wars movie, aside from maybe Empire. :)

In my day we only referred to the 1977 film "Star Wars" as "Star Wars."

*adjusts nerd glasses*

But seriously, Alex...bro, for real, look up how poorly Iger and Kathleen Kennedy have mismanaged Star Wars since purchasing Lucasfilm in 2012...if you're able to find an outlet that doesn't figure the current culture war into the mix which has generated a fuckload of hyperbole on both sides along with the access media shilling and spinning.

Shit's been a god damned mess. Iger led Lucas to believe they'd use his outline for the sequels to secure the deal, nearly every project has had their director replaced, Solo's production was a fucking trainwreck, the sequel trilogy (which should've been a walk in the park creatively speaking) has had no cohesive storyline with questionable decisions made in The Last Jedi causing all sorts of problems including splitting the fanbase, backlash from certain castmembers, driving down toy sales, and the debacle that is Galaxy's Edge...both of them.

It's only a matter of time until someone writes a book regarding all the horseshit that's went on.

Oh, and check out the story about the actor that played Admiral Ackbar who got royally fucked by Johnson. It's completely understandable why the "Holdo Maneuver" wasn't the "Ackbar Maneuver", but god damn...

Hopefully when Kennedy finally leaves in 2021, Favreau will be given the ball and he along with Dave Filoni, Chow, Famuyiwa, and that Feige guy can get the property back on track.

I didn't care much about optimizing Disco's clothes setups, just picked whatever seemed like it'd help in the situation but what annoyed me was that I couldn't pull out the prybar in the middle of a "dialog" tree since you'd often get the option to pry something open while you're examining it and of course that doesn't really work without the prybar.

During the grand finale I failed a lot of seemingly surefire rolls but I didn't savescum that, just chalked it up as this just being the way my experience works out. I don't think there are more than a handful of checks you actually need to pass to finish the game but doing sidequests or actually getting a good outcome will require passing some of the rolls.

Everyone's entitled to their own opinions, but my god Jeff B has some terrible Star Wars opinions.

I can't remember for sure if GTA V does this (it probably does), but I do remember GTA SA doing it - on the custom radio channel, they sprinkle in some radio ads between your chosen songs. It adds a little flavor, and makes it feel like you're not just listening to your own playlist.

I'm kind of the same as Alex in regards to not understanding the whole family beef at holidays thing. My entire family is very conflict-averse (myself included), so when a big drama thing happened in the family, we simply stopped getting together for the holidays. We used to go over to my cousins' for Thanksgiving and Christmas for years, but we stopped doing that when I was like 12 or so and haven't done it since.

@spoodie: I expected to hate this, but overall it’s pretty good. Some of it is way too over the top and goofy, but that original fight is pretty boring so I can see accidentally overcorrecting.

I don't drink myself whenever I watch any movie they've done, but I'd probably have to with RE, at least during Apocalypse.

Without fact-checking, I'm 99% sure that one of them (maybe IV on PC?) had a custom channel with ads/a DJ that commented on all the music playing there likely being something you pirated.

Once you realize Star Wars is just a silly space magical samurai movie you'll be more at peace. Those first movies are neat because they were always a tribute to then (then) fifty-sixty years of cinema. And they were very consciously leaning on the old corny movies and sci-fi series especially.

The newer movies have sort of abandoned that feel (there's sort of no way they could have sustained that really) so for me they kind of fall flat. They're just modern corny movies, and feel sort of blah for the most part.

It's funny though I have never seen any of the recuts. I've only seen them on Laserdisc as a kid, my friend had some chinese bootleg of the despecialized edition on DVD when I was a young teen, and now it's very easy to get stuff like Star Wars 4K77 which looks gorgeous.

oh and Jeff's kid watching Sonic X is hilarious. If I recall correctly at some point that show retells the story of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, so he'll have a crash course on Big the Cat.

P.S. I've never had some crazy political debate at a family gathering. I guess I'm lucky my family isn't very confrontational on either side and is generally left leaning as well.

Ah, Mike is the person all the moba's & character shooter games add those lore blurbs for. With Dota that stuff always makes my eyes glaze over becuase every other character is some ancient powerful god that created the world or some aspect of it and then you enter the game and you're playing a support with 40 damage and 700 hp. Really drives home that it's all meaningless drivel that should sound sort of cool but ultimately not worth paying attention to.

Didn't H1Z1 already do car battle royale a few years ago?

It makes total sense that they're basically giving the steam controller away. Inventory costs are a huge burden they want to get rid of ASAP. They put the steam link tech in samsung TV's now i believe.
