Some might say Dragon Quest Builders 2 was one of the best games of 2019 :)

Had not heard of Comet 64, but looks up my alley as a weird idiot who likes playing programming games in my free time when not programming at work. I like the visual style of it quite a bit. Thanks for mentioning it, Vinny!

I feel for you Vinny. The unspoken truth of this on going pandemic, we get to experience first hand the workload our loved one’s put up with. I am torn. On one hand seeing first hand the insane workload, and borderline f'd up hours my girl "has" to work completely elevates my respect for her. I could not do it. I would have split a vein, and told my boss to back off. But shared resources are not just a video game concept, but a real life debuff. My wife did in person advertising work at the superbowl. So many fears, so much stress.

This pandemic will have a lasting effect. For me, it’s how little the corpo’s really care, and trying to draw a line in the sanity sand. You’re not alone bro. This podcast helps me take a deep breath. And seeing you guys go through the same shit, is cathartic. Thank you for Giant Bomb. I love this website.

I’ve had an Atgames Legends Ultimate arcade cabinet for over a year and I’m very happy with it. I installed CoinOPs on it, and it does pretty much exactly what you were asking for @Jeff B

Those first two episodes of Wanda Vision are kind of rough to get through. It's novel and fun for the first like 10 minutes but then you realize that they're just going to keep going with it, and they do, for two full episodes. Thankfully they find a good balance in the later ones and it has really picked up since last week to the point where I'm actually really curious where it goes.

I really liked DQ Builders 2 a lot. Maybe a little more variety in the gameplay would've been nice and maybe the gameplay could've prioritized creating over grinding for materials a little more, but it was a really relaxing and fun game to spend time with.

Vinny, Destiny 2 crashed real hard for me on Steam after the update on one of the Battleground maps, but worked fine after reinstall. Might just be a bug in the update or something.

I enjoyed Dragon Quest Builders 2 except for the ungodly slow text speed whenever the voice in your head was communicating with you.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 was a game I wish I liked more. I should like it, since I love both Minecraft and Dragon Quest proper. But something was just lacking from the experience.

I think a lot of it was that I just wanted a place to be creative while the game was so insistent on making you do things its way. It can't just say "build a farmhouse" and then let you figure out how to do it. It has to tell you what to build, when to build it, where to put, and what materials to use. Rather than letting you be an architect, the game only lets you be a subcontractor for the worlds most micromanaging municipality.

In the end, it just felt like it combined the worst parts of an RPG (derivative story, pedantic tutorials), with the worst parts of Minecraft (horrible inventory management, mediocre combat).

I saw Biodome for the first time last year. I did not care for it at all.

I haven't even been able to start playing Red Dead 2 because I can't find an HDR option I'm happy with.

Even though I love that game, I can totally see that being the case for some people. As a non-creative, the game's mix of like 80% guided tasks / 20% creativity really hit the spot for me. I need some kind of tasking list to stay focused, this is why Minecraft really does nothing for me. Being able to make whatever you want in the hub world and goof around there was about the level of freedom I was looking for.

I will agree about the combat, that was the one thing they didn't improve at all going from DQB1 to DQB2, and I wish they had. At least give me like a dodge roll or something!

I was surprised by just how much I ended up liking Immortals Fenyx Rising. Breath of the Wild really didn't do anything for me and I came away being more bored than anything else but for whatever reason Immortals really clicked for me.

Double Dragon absolutely did always play that horribly when you add a second player. Frankly, the frame rate is barely playable in single player half of the time. Even the second arcade game doesn’t do much better in that regard.

Watched hockey fight compilations the other day... Saw some shit from the 70s, half the team didn't wear helmets.... Like at all, not while playing or fighting.
