2012 it's time to celebrate

the best games of the year.

What you got, Binary Domain?

I don't think so

but it's still pretty good.

I am with Jeff on Mass Effect 3. I loved 1 and 2 for the most part, but I played Mass Effect 3 exactly as EA/Bioware wanted me to when they shipped the disc out and it kind of sucked as far as being a let down.

Yes, it probably would have made the game way better if all this DLC was included in the game on the disc they originally shipped, but they decided not to, and people did not come away with a this game in their good graces after they originally finished it.

I didn't hate Mass Effect 3, but it was just such a let down. Brad, I can definitely see why you liked it, that X-files thing seems awesome. Also, that Jarvik stuff sounds great for anyone invested in the series, but EA/Bioware didn't include it, it's their bad, not mine. Just like how Halo 4 kind of sucked with the terminals that you couldn't access in-game for the crucial story bits.

I'm in Brad's corner. Not only did I play Mass Effect 3 well after his DLC came about, but it definitely made it one of my favorite games of the year. I can understand why people hated it out the gate, but if they just went back and looked at it now, they'd see it wasn't the same game back in March.

It has changed for the better, I agree. The multiplayer is something to behold after not playing for about 5 months. After hearing good things about the DLC, I'm looking forward to it (just wish there was some bundle or discount on PC but EA never does this). Had the foresight to include Javik most of the time during my first playthrough - well worth it.

The combat in ME3 is more fun on insane difficulty. Very much like Halo in that sense. It is a different game to play on legendary compared to normal.

I just realized that I am pretty sure that black sphere is in ME1. You can find something like that on one of the planets.

Very true. It's on an uncharted planet (with the monkeys) in ME1. When you examine it, a box pops up with a story on what happens. If I remember correctly, you passed out and relived the experiences of a primitive human who saw a huge 'metal bird' in the sky.

Could either mean it was Sovoreign checking up on things and through the artifact the Leviathans could see it, or it may have been the Protheans who apperently kept tabs on all the species as well.

This was the second video of the Bombcast I ever watched. So cool watching this 6 months later with thousands of hours with the Bombcast under my belt.

This is awesome. Slim Brad looks badass with a beard and seeing Patrick without one is soooo wierd to me now. And goddamn I miss Ryan.
