It's a huge bummer looking up review scores of games shown here. Some that I've never heard of looked maybe interesting, and most ended up being pretty bad. I guess that's why I never heard of them.

I remember having an issue of Tips and Tricks which had a walkthrough of RE Dead Aim, which took a page to explain how to hook a keyboard up to your PS2.

I hear them say it isn't good, but that trailer really makes me want to play Seven Samurai 20xx.

The Great Circus Mystery starring Mickey and Minnie was a fucking amazing game, I loved it so much. Been waiting decades to tell someone! World of Illusion is the only Mickey game that can surpass it.

(But I dunno what this Magical Quest 2 crap is, that's not the name I know...)

Did anyone else here have those food fighters toys? I'd play a battlefield style game like that where you're types of food and food related/adjacent vehicles.

Also, a 7.2/10 is "not great"? Really? So...is Jeff basically admitting that how reviews are, and used to be, anything lower than an 8 is garbage and 8-10is what 6.5-10 should be?

I played Outbreak and got it day one...Gamestop packaged the a tshirt like a gun when you got it :p the game was just a resident evil 1 or 2 style game only with multiplayer. Was interesting but there was no voice chat or actual text chat so the only way to communicate was with a small number of emotes and "voices". Made playing the game really tough but you could barricade areas and stuff. There were some really creepy/tough scenarios like with the leech man monster who could seemingly show up anywhere. Not great but not bad either.

That Resident Evil lightgun game was interesting because you could move around in third person but then actually engage in combat in first person.

Added: Chrome Hounds is an interesting thing but a terrible game to play.

@francium34: That doesn't say much though, immagine you wouldve seen godhand here and looked it up. That has tons of bad scores from back then but is still to this day an absolutely awesome one of a kind game. The reviewers just didn't get along with it at all at the time.

Any of the interesting games in this gametape could be like that, especially if they're less well known.(Although obviously they could also just be plain bad/unenjoyable games, thats possible too :p)

I feel like you need a spoiler tag on this for people who are taking your same journey on All Systems Goku but the thought of needing a DBZ spoiler tag in this day and age is insane.

I don't know why @brad thought the original version of Ori being desisted was notable. The Definitive Edition is the same game with a few improvements and a new area, without making any cuts or objectionable changes to the game. It's so close to the original that it was kind of a "controversy" that it was a separate version of the game and not just a patch and some DLC in the first place. There's really no reason why the original version should be for sale; even from a preservationist perspective I don't think it's all that important.

I'd like to take a moment to recognize Ben's supremely underrated "What Tiger Tastes Like" joke.

Surreal moment when Jeff starts explaning plot of anime to the rest of the crews.

Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is terrible and was in fact a huge movie but it was nowhere close to overshadowing the box office success of T2 (at least, not world wide). Also, I love this feature.

Great to finally see Jason on this feature! Dude knows a lot about video games and it's always fun to see him on camera.

Doctor Muto resembles MST3K's Doctor Forrester to a degree that I would describe as actionable.

The idea that anything less than an 8 is garbage probably comes from sour grapes. Many people can't afford to buy all the games they'd like, so they only get the "sure bets" and then try to convince themselves that they're not missing out by dismissing the ones they didn't buy as being beneath them. I'm not saying I think that's your position, but it is one I've seen before, usually associated with console wars.

When Jeff says that a 7.2/10 is "not 'Great'", he was making a joke about the descriptive term 'Great' which by the GameSpot review scale, it isn't (it's 'Good').
