Get in the Ring: (10/18/2017)

Love this series. Keep it up, guys.

I love this. I feel I'm on the same kind of wavelength about WWE right now, so this feature was right up my alley. Also loved the "real talk " about Ultimate Warrior. His story was sad, but the retconning of the man he truly was in the name of marketing is really gross. Really refreshing to hear an outlet other than forums express this.

Speaking of the state of the WWE, I tried to get back into it, and watched Summer Slam. I think it was Summer Slam, where Reigns, Strowman, and Lesnar had a three way match. Strowman takes Lesnar out, only for him to comeback at the end and win the match. I lost interest again after that. Strowman clearly should have been the winner. And yeah, how they're trying to force Roman Reigns on people is worst than what they did with Cena after the Attitude Era.

After hearing Dan rip intovthe current state of WWE and how the only thing they can think of for a Halloween event is "guy-named-after-legendary-Celtic-monster-who-can-go-super-saiyan-demon" versus "Big-Biker-Teddy-Bear-Who-is-Possessed-by-the-Ghost-of-a-Witch", I HAD to look that clip up on the internets.

I don't know what Dan's angry about. That moment is freaking oh-mazing. :D

Loved this -- hope you guys keep this up. Would love it monthly if possible... twice monthly would be magic.

I can see the reception of this new series is good, so I'm just gonna say I'm glad wrestling has it's own place on GB now so I can easily ignore it. I gave the video a try but could not go on after 10 minutes, it's just not for me at all.

SMS wasn't happening anyway, and it isn't US centric (professional wrestling takes place in multiple places -- Fire Pro is Japanese -- and is watched worldwide).

This is way too inside for me. After about 20 minutes I scrolled through to the second game, then scrolled some more to where they are running through the hallways. That was fun and featured a cool conversation non-wrestling fans can appreciate about Vince Mcmahon. But I think that's as far as I can go with this series.

Oh please please please make this at least a semi regular thing. Gotta have a little wrestling with my Giant Bomb for it to feel right.

As someone who has not followed wrestling since the early 2000s this was a lot of fun.

I could definitely go for some more Alex and Dan streams. Doesn't have to be wrestling themed. This was quality chatter and gameplay.

Wrestling news is cool and all, but for some reason I really wanted to hear Vinny and / or Abby commentating these matches and coming up with stories.

I watched the whole thing, I don't really care what they do, as long as it doesn't talk about politics. I'd watch anything.

Aside from the bugs, I honestly don't understand why they dunk on these 2K games so much. I play them every year and have a great time with them, they're fun as hell.

The moment Dan has a kid, his Wrestlemania trips will stop.

At least for awhile.

Dan closes his eyes to stuff that might taint his memory of something. It's something he has done again and again. Like his whole "Vince was right" bullshit about the Montreal Screwjob. He claims to be a huge wrestling fan, but apparently only believes the WWE state sponsored media version of events because that is the one that Vince came up with is just...amazing.

And I just can't imagine idolizing Vince. An absolutely terrible person that supported wrestlers killing their bodies with drugs (of many varieties), supports bullying, is clearly misogynistic, racist, and homophobic, as well as 100 other things. Vince is a piece of shit.

My feelings about NBA 2K are very similar to Dan's opinion on WWE. They put an emphasis on animation and simulation over fun. Add the inherent grind in some of their modes and virtual currency and you get a product that isn't super user friendly. Having said that, I keep coming back to NBA because I'm really itching for a basketball game.

I haven't bought a wrestling game since WWE 13 because I didn't like the direction they were going. I don't really watch wrestling anymore, but I've always wanted to get back into the games. Might give FP a try.

I know nothing about wrestling, but this was still very pleasant to listen to.
