Can someone explain to me how a random fan can just decide to drop $80 as a gift for people who have no idea who they are?

Because the person is a fan? want's to show his support or thanks for the years of great content?

Thanks Captain Obvious.

I'm a huge fan too, but I can't see myself paying $80 for a thank you card to strangers

You asked for an explanation so i gave you one, captain dickhead.

And just because you can't see yourself doing it doesn't mean others won't, remember this world doesn't revolve around you or what you would do.

Been drinking scotch whisky all my drinking life and I wanted to say a few things about that fine dram someone sent you:

Yes, it's good! Retails at around 45-50 pounds here in Scotland which means it'll really skin you in the states. It's a speysider so it's going to be mild, fruited and slightly sweet similar in taste to a good american bourbon plus it's non chillfilted which means you can really taste the malty oils. The stones might be a decent idea for those who like cool drinks but NOT in whisky like this. The cold limits the taste of the spirit as it lowers the temp. down too low for the molecules to open up and really give you the taste and smell you need from a decent spirit. Low temps are for cocktails and tall drinks, not for Scotch! As it's at 48 percent whack about 5ml of water into a serving, leave it to air out for about 3 minutes, then smell and taste it, you'll notice the differance trust me!

Oh, and it's pronounced "Nadoora", not "Nahdoorah" :p Gaelic is almost impossible to figure out when you're not from around these parts!

Slainte from a concerned whisky snob :p

I have the Whiskey Stones. They don't make it that cold, just mildly cool if you start with room temperature liquor. I don't think it would work for a beer (it might help keep it cold I guess, but I don't think it will chill down a warm beer).

Hey, thanks to for posting this video. I'm glad that he and everybody else at Giantbomb.com are excited about the gift I sent them. I hope they enjoy it.

To answer some questions:

The price of the whisky was $80 USD.

I sent the whisky stones as a novelty. Good scotch shouldn't be chilled, but I wanted send something else with the bottle, and I sent the guys some tasting glasses with the last batch of whisky I sent them.

Not a subscriber, sooooo obviously not that huge a fan. Just sayin'.

Being a fan is based on how much money you throw at something? Do you own all the shirts and other merch for your favorite band? Did you even buy all of their music? I doubt you did, so you're not a real fan. Just sayin'

and for the record, I use to be a subscriber but haven't resubscribed because I'm waiting on more subscriber-worthy content. It was worth the subscription for Happy Hour alone, but now that it's gone...

Agree I just buy a month sub every couple of months and download all the sub content I missed.
