SA is a massive forum and is pretty troll-free generally. There's a lot folks on there that are GB Duders and Developers. For example the one gal who works on Roundabout also does stuff in the SA LP forum as well. Like commentary on this amazing game.

Lately, I've had to spend all day on Giant Bomb to catch all the content. This is awesome; keep 'em coming.

Dan is an endless supplier of baffling but endearing questions. "What is a haddock?" is not something I ever expected to hear from a grown person, but it's sort of charming at the same time.

I've had Deer jerky before and it was excellent, but what exactly does Brad mean by "not all jerky is cooked"?! Jerky is meat that has been cured through drying (with low heat). Jerky is never "raw", if that's what he means.

Also boneless wings aren't wings. You guys just don't understand, they're a different thing. A Boneless Buffalo Wing isn't a thing, because that invalidates the whole premise.

My working theory is he is a replicant, made to infiltrate Giantbomb for some nefarious purpose. I will get to the bottom of this.

SA is arguably the best moderated large-scale message board on the internet. People who post over there like the trolls over here tend to get probated or outright banned with little or no mercy and/or mocked hilariously by everyone else. Anyone actually getting trolled on SA usually didn't lurk long enough or is acting like an idiot and bringing it on themselves.

It would be a difficult or impossible model to follow for Giant Bomb but Rorie and the others are doing a bang-up job without it and we should all buy them a scotch.

Anything you've heard about SA and trolling probably stems from old MMO guild stuff, and that varies from guild to guild and from goon to goon. SA proper is like, 200,000 users spread across a ton of forums most of which have nothing to do with drama in internet videogames.

I see some potential brand synergy with Urge and the movie The Purge.

Oh, you must have mistaken Something Awful for NeoGAF or something, lol...

It's great to see the office full of people again.

Oh yeah, Something Awful has always had a troll-y side of it. But it's much more than that, and because you have to pay a few dollars to get in (plus it's moderated heavily, almost as much as NeoGAF) it has a better atmosphere than most forums out there. I've been a member for years now, and it's a great place to be.

The membership fee really does go a long way in making people think twice before they make an account to start spilling some inane vitriol. The mods also had no qualms about outright banning someone after 2 bad posts and sending them off to read the rules.

I agree that it is one of the best moderated sites out there.
