@kaiserreich: Pretty crazy. Thanks for that video. Brad was totally right about there being a giant Laserdisc-looking thing in there, although I was not expecting the player to extract the contents like that.

Here's what I remember about Selectavision. They looked like giant Atari games, my grandparents had Star Wars and Annie (they had some more like Raiders of the Lost Ark and Empire Strikes Back but those two I remember clearly), and you had to flip the disk over halfway through the movie. In Star Wars the end of Side 1 was Peter Cushing saying "Execute her."

Got Cook Serve Delicious during the Steam sale. One of the achievements really shows their respect and earned mine as well. Double cheese!

After seeing that great collection you sent their way, I went to follow you and was happy to find that I already had at some point. That was certainly one of the more interesting mailbags in a long time.

You can reuse that 2006 calendar in 2017 so hang onto it for 3 more years and you'll be good!

GOD DAMMIT I WANT THE PILEDRIVER RECORD. I only have the cassette, although it was a cassette that came in a record sized-package. For some reason.

The Demolition theme is what got me into metal as a 4th grader, so I can never praise it enough. And Jeff was right the first time, Jive Soul Bro does make it better.

Neat 2 Live Crew and GNR stuff too. This is one of the few junk-through-the-mail videos where the stuff has actually been really cool.

I'd be trying to get rid of Barbarella, too.

Just read the wikipedia entry on those discs, the explanation on how they work is absolutely crazy. Old school tech's science fiction stuff, that's a really interesting read.

MY COLLECTION IS AT ITS PEAK. I still have 2,000+ records, going strong. And these aren't even in the top 100 of dumb shit I have.

Ironically I was cleaning today and have my SelectaVision copies of Halloween 3 and The Amityville Horror sitting next to me right now. Pretty rad stuff.

I bought the DRM free version of this game directly from the developer(through the Humble store) before it was greenlit and I'm happy that they later included a Steam key for free so now I get all the steamwork stuff too.

Yeah, we had a Selectavision player when I was a kid. We had a pretty good number of discs for it; one of the Peanuts movies, a few concert recordings, some documentaries, and some regular-ass movies. I don't remember too much about it, but I remember the quality being fine (not much worse than VHS) and I remember the design of the cartridges themselves really vividly. Weird to think that they're almost completely forgotten just a couple decades later.

Nobody uses either. They're both empty.

I hate it when codes are given out in bulk like that, it ensures maximum amount of people see it that won't ever actually be able to get any of them... it's very mean, and super annoying. There should be a service that people can sue to rip codes like this they get from publishers and distribute them to their own member base via email or whatever account system they have. Kinda a third party code auto-distribution site or something.
