Between Puppy Chat and guest appearances on this bombcast by Snyder and the Fresh Prince, I realized how much I miss the Whiskey Media Happy Hour. With that said, the woodworking talk was soooo boring.

I didn't have the time to check all the comments, but my BOOK RECOMMENDATION would be:

Racing the Beam: The Atari Video Computer System (Platform Studies)

It's a little geeky but if you really enjoy the magic that got early home games going holy cow. My most crazy takeaways were: The atari 2600/VCS had 128 bytes of RAM. BYTES... and some of the bigger games were 4K and 8K. The mind boggles.

Dat Vinny Cast!! Always a nice change of pace, and since it doesn't happen too often, always appreciated.

I love the Vinny bombcast music clips throughout the cast... the remix opening theme is also awesome!!! Great work Vinny.

That was a absolutely delightful podcast. Vinny is a fantastic host :D

Am I... Listening to NPR? Where'd the awesome interstitial music and sound effects come from? You know what, I'm into it.

I miss Dave, Will, Tatum, Coonce, Davis etc.

How did anyone have issues hearing what Patrick was saying? It was perfectly audible. Plus, in my opinion the story would probably have been a little boring without the bed behind it.

Great podcast. Could do without all the terrible sound effects though. Black Knight music was amazing however.

Vinny's editing was so amazing! It's such a treat when Vinny hosts, but I miss Jeff. I'd love see what Vinny can do as host while Jeff is in.

The Vinnycast is my favorite podcast. The shit he does with the music kills me every time!

What an excellent bombcast.

I normally don't comment on podcasts despite listening every week. This was just insufferable with the music and the sound effects.

Like Patrick trying to tell the Eve story and constantly being interrupted and drowned out by dumb sound effects and music. When someones saying interesting stuff its probably best not to do everything in your power to distract from that.

I turned the podcast off after they played an entire 2-3 minute long song for NO REASON for emails. It's not funny. It's just annoying and grinds everything to a complete halt.

Vinny is a good host but for the love of god take away that damn soundboard. It's just terrible and distracting.

Been trying really hard to get through this podcast. Typically I think Vinny is hilarious, but wanted I to voice my dislike of the music/sound effects as well. The Black Knight stuff was fine (totally in context), but the editing of Patrick's Eve story was extremely difficult to get through. The sound effects were just painfully grinding on me, and the music and pauses were just distracting and infuriating. Please no more of that. ):

Best podcast ever! I rarely comment but feel the need to this week. Vinny has to host more often. And get Patrick, Will and Dave on more often.

Extra Lives by Tom Blissel. Everyone should read that book. It's brilliant.

While I don't think this was the best Vinny-style Bombcast I don't think it was as bad as some people are making it out. I mean unless you're listening to this thing through your built-in iPhone speaker I could hear Patrick just fine. Vinny shows are better as one-offs anyway, if he did it all the time it may get old, but the occasional show by him is the best way to go.

Also, the worst part was all the talk about wood and being a dad and shit. Seriously, there's two types of parents I find - those that are normal and talk about their kids like normal people and those that go into this whole "Oh man, I'm a parent! My life is crazy! You wouldn't understand!" shit. ... yeah, you have kids, you make things out of wood. And you're all under 40 so let's not act like this is a bunch of world-weary men talking shop ... it's a video game podcast. I dunno ... a bit of life talk is cool, but after 20 minutes it gets a bit tiring. That all sounds harsh, and I did like this episode, but enough of the "We're so old! Do kids know who John Romero is!? I doubt it!!".

This Podcast gave me ear cancer! Also, it killed my father! I will never be able to love again!

I'm going to be perfectly honest here. I think I might actually despise the people overreacting about the musical interludes. Some of you (not all, but some) are actually crossing the fucking line with this "you guys are overpraising Vinny" bullshit. For the rest of you that simply didn't care for it, to each is own. I have no problem with you. But, for the rest of you that crossed over into...

I love Giant Bomb and a large portion of the GB community. However, a vocal minority of the people here are so selfish, uninteresting, judgmental, and obsessed with commenting upon minutia that it makes reading the comments difficult.

Loved the podcast this week. It is always nice to change things up a bit. This is why Giantbomb is so good, The content really does reflect the personalities and different hosts make different podcasts.

Vinnie's podcast productions are freaking epic!!

The use and choice of music and sound effects are absolutely perfect. I've been listening to this episode over and over again all week and it never gets old.

Another good book for gamers is Mogworld by Yahtzee Croshaw, of Zero Punctuation Fame. It's a story as perceived by NPCs inside an MMORPG. Pretty absurd and funny imo.

And while I don't mind musical interludes in the podcast, I don't like it when they continuously interrupt someone talking (like during the EVE story, which just seems disrespectful for who is talking even when it might not be intended that way) or are just a bit too loud in the background (some people listen to this podcast in the car, with a lot of background noise, so I understand if it gets hard to understand).

Great podcast otherwise!

You people are crazy complaining about the production values. I enjoy a bit of class and straight up that shit takes time and effort and appreciate that kind of care from vinny. To each his own, but I still think you guys are crazy, It enhanced the podcast tremendously for me.

Vinny should edit more podcasts, sorry Jeff
