Andddddd look at that.  Ubisoft delays Splinter Cell Convinction for PC.  Like I said, this more than anything is what causes them to have jack shit success on PC.

Pathetic, yet hardly surprising.

In regards to the Piracy Comment, They are already selling their games on steam, why not just leave it at that?

Jeff Gerstmann: "What kind of lives are you leading that 5 installs are not enough?!"(around the 1:57:00 mark)

to answer that question: I reinstall my Windows every couple months. No, it's a legitimate, registered Microsoft Windows copy. The reason why I do this is simple: The Windows PC will slow down no matter what - defrag, registry-cleaner, etc etc ... nothing does it as quick and clean as a fresh install every couple weeks or months.

I have customer-solutions, were we have Windows-images reinstalling every time the machines reboots (Internetcafe-business-owners, IT-Training Schools) and I do this from time to time on Unix/Linux machines too.

Having a seperate C:\  partition for the OS and installing all other stuff on other harddrives or partitions does not prevent me from doing what I think is the best practice.

If Ubisoft and others don't like me doing it, I don't care about Ubisoft and others. No, I don't pirate their games neither. I simply don't care.

Also, there are many, many people around the world, who still don't have ANY Internet access, or don't have a reliable fast connection, or are stuck with one single ISP in their area, that is shitty etc... - those, mostly poor kids are screwed. The video game industry does not care about them. Internet famous video game journalists IMHO should care.

And also, Ryan saying for the publishers: "Fuck the PC!" is like telling "Fuck You" to me (who just bought 3 more PC Games today on GOG.com, DRM-free, btw) and to fellow PC Gamers!? Not cool, Duder.

@buckybit: I'm pretty sure when he was saying "Fuck the PC!" He was referring specifically to Ubisoft, and how they should give up on making PC games and stick at what they're good at.

If you take it out of context, sure it's going to sound bad.

@Skillface: sure. As I heard it, he was channeling (and agreeing) with that exact position -granted, nitpicking on certain sentences said in a 2 hour podcast is unfair for me to do.

Yet I felt disappointed that he would give in to this industry 'narrative' that 'piracy' on PC is killing the PC as a platform - that's just wrong. The same logic should apply for DS and PSP games?

There are many legal ways how publishers can make money selling PC games. Again - 2 hour podcast - GB-Duders say a lot. Not everything must make sense all the time? ;)

I loved all Splinter Cell games and if Conviction is the same as the old games, I'm fine with it.

Yes, those 'poor kids' with their gaming PC's you mean?! Those poor, poor children. They probably only have 1, maybe 2 gigs of memory, so sad, and I can't imagine what life must be like for them with only a 200GB hard drive, and on a 15" screen too. Those poor unfortunate souls. Sigh.

*EDIT* Wow. I just described the specs of my MacBook... Heh.

I'm really glad that Ryan said "I think you're playing Splinter Cell wrong" to Brad at the end of his speech.  I was wincing listening to him talk about aiming without equipping his weapon.  I think the Splinter Cell series deserves more respect though lol.

Conviction feels nothing like the older Splinter Cell games. So i have no idea what Brad is talking about.

This is still one of my favourite episodes of the Bombcast, when Jeff starts joking about Yakuza 3 and Japanese pizza.  L M F A O.
