And Jeff on the super offensive. There were several moments in the podcast where he didn't know what he was talking about and just assumed the worst until Brad corrected him.

EDIT: "Hellgate London is a better Destiny". Gonna have to skip the Destiny portion of the podcast. Again.

I agree with @danryckert that the fourth Die Hard movie is alright, but the uncut is WAY BETTER since I feel like the PG-13 version seems to chance the character of John McClane with him not cussing like a sailor. Also, here's all the times that they cut out the word "fuck" for the PG-13 version.

@sravankb: It's bad enough that Destiny somehow made it into the top 10 last year. Jeff is just still atoning for that.

I disagree that 'nothing' happened at TGS. I just think not a lot happened that appeals to Giantbomb staff.

Gravity Rush? Nope, doesn't exist.

This was one of the best TGS' in a long time, so, Giant Bomb folks just don't care about the Japan games so much, which whatever, but, man, best E3, gamescom and TGS in a long time all in the same year is pretty exciting.

It actually sounds better, the high points of the audio don't sound crushed/clipping like it used to before and it doesn't feel as "flat", with more low frequencies. But it does have more popping and breathing, specially at the beginning, maybe the microphones don't have a pop filter mask yet or they're still figuring out the right configurations.

Hope to get some SOMA talk next week. Also this has to fit into the pantheon of low-energy bombcasts. Podcastfest obviously took something out of em.

Even last gen--Japan's weakest gen--was still way more interesting to me than the west's strongest.

I like Live Free Or Die Hard much more than With A Vengance...it had the weakest ending and most basic motivations.

It has radio "oompf" effect of a kicking double-compression but it is too bassy on all channels, and too much bass for too long seriously makes peoples ears and brains tired even if they don't actively notice it. I recommend techsharing with Vindog for EQ settings per mic to clear things up, it's not muddled-bassy, just too-bassy.

Nothing particularly shocking went down at TGS imo, so it's not a far off assessment. Some nice news but nothing mind blowing. I guess chalk it up to people automatically swinging hard in the opposite direction when they see a vague humorous "opinion" on here, or just wanting to jump down brad's throat for reasons any chance they get. Meh.

I can totally believe that an HD radio sub-stream was screwed up for days without anyone noticing. It is probably way down the list of priorities for an over worked production director, and since it's revenue neutral, his/her boss doesn't really care. Typically engineering would get an alarm if a station had dead air, but since something was going over the air, they didn't notice.

And since no one is listening to the channel, no one would contact the sister station and tell someone there that there's something wrong with their HD feed. It's the perfect storm.

I was there live for that Mixlr, along with a select bunch of "privileged" few. Man that was nuts. Glad Jeff finally brought that up on the Bombcast. I'm sure he needed that time to process it.

I feel like they need a really big JRPG/weird game loving dude on their staff cause from Ni-Oh, Gravity Rush remaster and sequel, KH, Yakuza, 13 Sentinels, Bloodborne dlc, KoF 14........and they're like "eh, TGS was ok" :|

Hearing Dan explain that wrestling storyline made me realize that wrestling and superhero comic books are basically the same thing: soap operas for dudes.

After Dave Snider left I was waiting for Giant Bomb to get someone who had a similar taste for more complex, PC-centric RPG and strategy stuff, but I don't think that's gonna happen. I think you can expect about the same when it comes to Giant Bomb and Japanese things that aren't Nintendo (and even then only Dan really is enthusiastic about modern Nintendo).

as someone who has never been into wrestling but has always wanted to be into wrestling, I love the idea of dan just talking about stupid wrestling bullshit for 10 or so minutes every podcast.
