I am shocked the salt vs sugar discussion was so quick and one-sided. I like salt, but food without salt still tastes good. But sweets without sugar tastes bad. And diet soda for the rest of my life? Yuck!

I also enjoyed it, as well as the recurring gag of "name 10 games better than Brothers" or "but is it better than Brothers". I'm anticipating some entertaining discussions regarding Brothers in the GOTY deliberations just like there were entertaining conversations regarding Saints Row the Third in 2011 GOTY deliberations.

I have played through the entirety of Brothers. Assassins Creed 4 is better than brothers, Gunpoint is better than Brothers, Battlefield 4 is better than Brothers, Eldritch is better than Brothers, Gone Home is better than Brothers, The Last of Us is better than Brothers, DMC is better than Brothers, Hotline Miami is better than Brothers, Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner is better than Brothers, Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is better than Brothers, Papers Please is better than Brothers, Saints Row 4 is better than Brothers, Bioshock Infinite is better than Brothers, Grand Theft Auto IV is better than Brothers, Phoenix Wright Dual Destinies is better than Brothers, and probably more.

Also, the crew talking about the Xbone perfectly encapsulates why the Xbone will probably NEVER be for me as a gamer. I don't have cable or sattelite and I never will again, I don't care about American sports or fantasy leagues, and I don't like yelling at my television when I have a controller in my hand. Even when it works better its not faster than a controller...just saying.

No... it is very much faster than a controller. I don't think you've seen it in action. Saying: 'Xbox go to store' is faster than dashboarding your game, sliding to the games page and hitting the store. Having the store already highlighted and then going to the store will obviously be faster with a controller, but that's not the use case for it. You can use both the controller and the voice commands and intelligently decide when it is best used. You don't have to always choose one over the other.

Also, it's pretty crazy that your entire argument why an Xbox won't be for you is because you don't watch TV or want to use voice commands. That's only two functions the console has. PlayStation also has voice commands, so I guess that also won't be for you EVER.

Regarding Brothers, it's not the best game I played this year, but it was really good I think. It's kind of impossible to compare it to the games you listed I think. But if I had to make a top 10 list it would definitely favor GTAV (I'm assuming you meant that instead of IV), Blood Dragon, Saints Row, Gone Home and Gunpoint. Hard to argue with Hotline Miami. That game is really great. But then the argument was games of this year not last year. But Brothers is really something specific. It's only natural that a bunch of people won't like it at all.

Stop saying that Bioshock Infinite has "soured". It was an amazing game. I bet your complaints boil down to 'racism'.

Bioshock Infinite has soured because people realized the combat was generic and they totally threw away all of the edgy and interesting stuff by abandoning Columbia for Rapture for the first serious DLC.

It's a fine and varied shooter, that has pretty unique three dimensional combat, with wonderful environments, great sound design and a deep and interesting story.

What's this unclear timeline nonsense about Majora's Mask? It really clearly takes place after Ocarina of Time. Link gets turned in to a child and then goes off in search of 'a friend.' There was never any doubt about it, even when it was released; it says it right up front.

@toshi0815: I can and I will. Unless it's clearly mechanically broken in some way, it's down to opinion, pretty much. Maybe you play Counter Strike, Call of Duty or Battlefield all day every day, so any other shooter feels mediocre to you, but it was really fun and different to me, especially when you upgrade the Vigors a bit.

The biggest complaint I myself would have is that Elizabeth's materializing things power wasn't used very well at all - it was very samey and repetitive, for the most part.

Yeah he's clearly just riding in a forest after deciding to stay a kid after OOT, and stumbles upon a bizzaro Hyrule. MM's weirdness is like Dark Souls's difficulty, where its exaggerated far too much on the internet. Its really not that different to other Zelda games. (Still the best Zelda tho :D)

I'm surprised nobody's talking about this. If they're right, that's huge. Like, a complete deal-breaker (assuming I would at some point be interested in the Xbone, anyway). I don't care if you have the better games, I'm not leaving my save data at the mercy of some algorithm that has no idea how important my 200-hour Dark Souls save is to me.

I swear it's like they're expecting people who have an Xbone to play nothing but yearly releases and disposable sequels.

@brad fast travel in the a link to the past was done by playing an ocarina. It was unlocked by playing the ocarina in front of the weather vane in the town, the bird would then wake up and be your fast travel system.

Good news, you no longer have to worry about your 200 hour Dark Souls save because it was already deleted to make room for that Kinectmals 2 demo you downloaded.

No they said that the drive on the Xbone is proprietary, you can only do that on the PS4.

As far as I remember, Brad's proposition was that the launch line ups will not have 10 games better than Brothers. I realize the idea has evolved into a meme which is applied to any set of games.

I didn't think Brothers was that outstanding (I prefer mechanics to plots), but the whole "better than" debate is fuckin' stupid. Since when is people's personal opinion an absolute value judgement on the value/worth of a game. People should learn to makes statements like "I preferred" rather than "better than", and understand how to properly use subjective and objective statements. Whatever debate people are trying to win is vacuous. You just all sound like a bunch of petulant child.

About them shutting down streams of games that aren't released yet, that's not true. They shut down streams of games that aren't released in the US. Every time I've had a game release for me prior to it releasing in the US, they've threatened to ban me if I don't stop streaming it. Despite it being out.
