There are a couple of spots in this file that sound like they were run through a flanger. We're currently kicking every part of our audio chain until we figure out why. Hopefully won't sound too bad to your ears. Thanks for listening, friends!

It's funny, I came here to say that this is one of my favorite episodes in recent memories only to find out there are quite a few people who didn't enjoy it. I wonder how much of that disdain is generational (I'm 35)?

I loved it too. I'm 26. Let's get some survey data!

FPGA is:

Field Programmable Gate Array.

Essentially it's a microprocessor that you program the hardware logic into after the fab process.

It's somebody genetically created a podcast in a lab full of all the gaming topics I have zero interest in. So boring.

Ah. I was wondering why the audio sounded so weird in spots. Thanks for the clarification, @unastrike

Deus Ex Mankind Divided was a fantastic game, its only issue was the way that Square handled its dlc. Square should really commended for the way that they have handled that series.

Agreed; the pre-order & microtransaction nonsense (which did not affect gameplay at all) left a bad taste in people's mouths, but it was a good game.

Not *quite* up to the high standards of the original and Human Revolution, but still really good. Sad to see it won't be getting a follow-up anytime soon. I'm all for some good Avengers-based games, but not at the expense of DX.

I'm on the younger side of Gen X, and I loved it - partly because I've been doing the same thing recently: got my first PVM in November, bought a bunch of SCART cables, and my Framemeister arrived just last week.

Really love Jeff-hosted podcasts. He seems to care less about structure and moving things along which makes for way more funny, personable moments than the more structure-focused podcasts which have become pretty common over the last couple of years. Early 2014 podcasts are among some of my favorites for this exact reason.

With all due respect to brad, but can he take personal days more often? The tech talk and topics discussed in this episode were amazing and I know Brad would have cut them off before it got interesting. Peter needs to be a regular!

So... when are we getting a feature with Drew and X-Plane 11?

Not just an unfinished or quick look.

(actually I want a feature with a hardcore racing sim, but as Drew is a Pilot now, X-Plane sounds cool)

Peter Brown's Usenet rabbit hole was a funny anecdote, but boy did I zone out during like 80% of this episode. As others have said, I'd rather just emulate old games than get involved in the expensive hard-to-find AV nightmare that Peter Brown finds himself in.

At least Drew's aviation stories continue to be interesting.

First podcast in while I stopped listening to. The topic discussed between Jeff and Peter was to boring for me. While I like it when the cast go of places outside of games (Drew’s flying) this was too much, without Brad reeling in the discussion it became very boring for people who are not into such a niche subject.

If someone thought this episode was boring, I am glad I don't know them personally. This was the best episode in a long, long time.

I've usually just listen to the regular version of the podcast in my iPhone's podcast app. Is there a way to subscribe to the premium version? Do I have to type in a special URL? Thanks!

Im with Peter, Jeff seems down on PS4 exclusives - and Gravity Rush. I just played Gravity Rush 1 on PS4, my niece LOVES it, I dug it too!

The 5 past games Ive bought on PS4 are Uncharted 4, Watch Dogs 2, Tomb Raider (Rise), Yakuza 0, and Gravity Rush 2. By far my 2 most anticipated are Gravity Rush and Yakuza, and I bet Uncharted is better than Tomb Raider but I will see. Exclusives are still great! (I own all systems, just bought Smash Bros Wii U , Yoshi's Wooley World 3DS, and Dead Rising 4 on Xbox as well).

Also - sorting games. Man I need to. Boxes of PS2, PS3, Gamecube, DVDs, CDs, etc...

I just sold a huge box of 150 PSONE games to a young couple at a garage sale. they really wanted it, not to sell but to play. Made me feel good (made zero dollars on it). Sold all of my SNES games (knowing eventually they wont work anymore anyway). Made a little on that...

But Jeff is in a different spot - I bought all of my games. And haven't played many of them... He got many free, and played for review already. And he emulates. I don't. So for him to get rid of them seems like a no brainer - you lose nothing. Do it Jeff! ....I feel like I'm throwing money out...

Obviously these guys have the nostalgia from working with the gamespot finger that I don't (and a museum might want) - and they do collect some rarer stuff they bought in Japan (his prototype games etc - but you don't have to get rid of those), but the free PS2 games you got? Do it, you'll feel good.
