Audio seem just slightly off to anyone else? Not like egregiously so, just enough to kinda make you wonder if the audio is out of sync.

The GB West crew might not have played it, maybe Dan or Alex did at GB East. Or else, they didn't get to see the game. Or else they didn't care about it. I'd probably go with the third option.

This was a really good Bombcast. I loved the whole first 45-minute section about the resurgence of Japanese game industry. They talked about a lot of games that are near and dear to me. And the story from Mark at ~32-minute mark about 8-4 almost localizing Demon's Souls is priceless.

I'm liking the split camera view. Get everyone on screen for the first time.

I think it works best when people are going back and forth. If someone's talking for a long time I like the one camera.

I don't need the text on the screen mentioning what game they are talking about. I hope that doesn't continue. I'm watching the entire video and listening to them talk, I don't need the text.

Jeff's superpower is touching whatever random gaming software/hardware right before they become relevant subjects of news or conversation.

I actually really appreciate a repeat mention of the game they were just talking about. Vinny was doing it this week and it was great, didn't need to skip back once.
I mostly listen while driving and it's very easy to miss it when it's mentioned only once.

I also appreciate having the game they're discussing's title on the screen. It doesn't need to be a sentence. Just put the title alone in small text in the corner.

@onemanarmyy: Noticed this as well but I think it's not actually his mic being low but just that he's not close enough to his mic most of the time. Everyone else stays up on their mic pretty closely while John is kinda far back on his for much of the podcast so he sounds lower.

Jan is a supreme video dude, loving all his touches on podcasts, UPFs, etc. Def my favorite new hire.

I know this would be taken as a joke at the moment, but honestly Sea of Thieves: Battle Royale sounds pretty awesome.

I like the splitscreen, but it really doesn't need so much editing. It's just distracting from the great conversation.

Of course the developers distanced themselves from that "original heavy story" of Far Cry 5. They got so much shit for it when they first showed it.

I've been really enjoying the mini-renaissance of Japanese games lately, especially off the back of more and more western publishers producing safe, formulaic copy pasta games riddled with micro transactions.

If it weren't for Japanese devs I wouldn't have had very much to play this past year, and it's been a great year for my tastes.

Im bummed the GB crew arent jazzed about Sea of Theives. :(

@deadstar: I actually really appreciated this touch. I play the videos in the background while I work, and so there's times where I lose focus on their discussion for a few minutes. I often found myself having to rewind just to figure out what the heck they're talking about.

@someoneproud: last games I played to completion were, in order: Bloodborne (with DLC), Yakuza 0, Steamworld Dig 2 and Persona 5. One small Western indie game and three Japanese 100+ hour behemoths.

Currently playing: Yakuza 6 demo.

I don't want to give it a full pass, but Sea of Thieves really feels like they're launching it as a framework to add cool stuff to over time, especially with the inclusion of the game in the Xbox game pass. Even if it's underwhelming now, I'm optimistic for the future of the game.

A GB panel at Tokyo Game Show would be epic, and a nice change from the PAX shows.

Lumines is such a timeless classic. It's always one that I randomly jump back into for weeks at a time so I'm looking forward to re-mastered version.

Also...I'd LOVE to try Rez with that suit.....

i enjoy sea of thieves a lot. it'll be hated and shit on for years but it is a fun game at what it tries to do. played with 3 randoms yesterday and we had a great time exploring. excited to do that more.

On the Rez thing, I played through Aaero a couple of weekends ago. It's not exactly the same thing – the beats are harder and less PLUR (it's stuff like NOISIA and Flux Pavilion) – but it very much scratched a similar itch for me.

@beachykeen: yea, I'm confident that it could be something special in a year. Right now though $60 is an insane asking price. Unless you already have gamepass and just want to check in on it from time to time it's not really worth spending money on right now. Still, I've had fun with it and there is something there.

Also, that game is gorgeous. Sailing through a thunder storm was nuts
