I just made some Team Fortress 2 items, so this is pretty interesting to me.

It's the original, I futzed around with it a good bit in Audacity and got it sounding decent. In the future I'll probably use a better mic than the dinky gaming headset this one was recorded on.

I am super pumped to finally hear this. The stuff people can do with marketplace and the such like is really cool. The idea that item creators can make a living from it is really neat. Now if only I had the art skills and ingenuity to design some cool gear myself...

Brad, your voice is somehow way more awesome when you're just talking to yourself. And here I didn't think it could get any better. You should do these more often. Of better yet, start your own Jar Time-esque series.

isn't is quite difficult to get an item added to the official store? as in, there's a lot of competition?

There are a lot of items on the workshop. And Valve hasn't added any community items (barring the recent community-only robo hat update.) in a while now.
