I saw this on Steam today and it peeked my interest. Hope it's decent. Oh this is not at all what I thought it was. This just looks like a Dungeon's of Dredmor style game, which I love, but thought this would be more actually hacking based. Seems like hacking is becoming more of a thematic setting like med evil or fantasy rather then using it for gameplay mechanics.

What's up with the interference? Is that the game or the feed?

This game makes me think of the days where monitors only had black and green screens or black and white screens, and floppy discs where actually floppy. Also Oregon Trail.

YES, this is out finally? I've been waiting for this to be released on platforms other than iOS for what seems like ages now.

I played the original free 7DRL game obsessively for a few weeks. I even made my own strategy guide/FAQ. In that one, it didn't tell you what the programs did, so I had to figure them out for myself, and that was part of why I enjoyed it so much. I even ripped the sprites and searched/devised my own strategies for sweet prog combos, like PUSH + DEBUG. This video doesn't mention it, but there are also classes which determine what you start off with.

Michael Brough is one of my favourite developers, so I was happy to finally pay him for this. Looking forward to seeing all the new progs and mechanics changes.

Not really feeling it over here. Probably just me though. I can see it having an appeal for sure.

Pretty cool how this entire game is basically a game because of the movement rules you can impact. You can almost figure out how the code was written by the dev.

Yep. The simultaneous, turn-based movement was one part of the definition of a roguelike, before the term was recoined to mean simply permadeath mechanics with procedurally generated content.

For how upfront simple this game is, it's super addicting and quite challenging. Super worth the 5 bucks if you are into puzzle-esq games.

Jeff's strategy of "I'm going to run for the exit, even though I know it will be just as dangerous on the other side because all of the enemies persist" may be part of the reason he says he doesn't get very far in the game.

Weird. 868 is the area code for Trinidad and Tobago. Trinidad is so small, we use the American country code, 1, and the whole nation, has one area code. 868
