This is the dumbest idea for a infinite dlc. This seems like something they spit out to give them some breathing room after the criticism to make the rapture stuff. I cant wait for the later dlc but this looks pants.

Eh, I really liked Infinte's combat, especially on 1999. I'll probably give this a whirl.

What wrong in having DLC content that's catering to the audience that liked the game mechanics? I really don't get the whining since we also will get a two part story DLC. One part where you only explore and don't shoot and we also get to control Elizabeth. it in Rapture and they made totally new assets for the game. This seems ambitious in my eyes, when it comes to DLC.

A lot of people complained about how the games battle mechanics/skyhook etc didn't got utilized fully so this DLC is great for that! Mabey this welcomes more experimentation with the systems and vigors? Also...it's for those that liked 1999 Mode and want a solid challange. Why is this a bad thing? It's only 5 bucks to boot.

Don't want to play Clash in the Clouds? Fine, then dont. But it's just silly to whine when much more is promised too. I think they hit a good balance to focus on everthing from battle, gameplay, exploration and story. Will I buy Clash of the Clouds? Nope. Probably not since I'm not that into that kind of challenges but I'm happy for those that like those type of things.

I liked the combat in Infinite but...this is dumb.

Edit: Alright that piece of concept art was pretty neat.

They are probably focusing all their attention on the burial at sea stuff, so they made this thing to meet their DLC "quota".

That said, this is dumb and I am glad I didn't buy a seasons pass.

Looks cool for 5 dollar dlc, the other 2 I think are 15 each. So 20 bux for 35 dollars worth of DLC isn't bad. This is basically for people complaining about how long the DLC is taking (which is probably the type of people who want a horde mode DLC tbh)

"And that's why you don't buy season passes"

Well, the Burial at Sea content alone is going to be 30 bucks total. Season pass costs 20 bucks. This is 5 bucks worth of - admittedly kinda meaningless - extra content, but if you care about any DLC for this game, the Season Pass is clearly the way to go.

The only DLC I'm interested in for Infinite or games in general is a self-contained story with different main characters. I almost never go back to games with DLC that just modifies content I've already played or messes with the storyline like that Rapture DLC does. Stuff like the latter just feels like video game fanfic.

I liked Bioshock Infinite a lot. I brought the game again, after playing on my Brother's Steam Account - that is how much I liked the game. I paid for it even though I didn't have to.

But this DLC does not interest me. Bioshock's combat was serviceable. It was not anything special. However, I can understand why they made it - crafting DLC that lives up to the style and tone and value of Bioshock Infinite's main story is going to be very hard to do, and very expensive as well. This DLC looked relatively inexpensive to make.

I don't begrudge them for doing this. I got more than my money's worth with Bioshock Infinite's main storyline.

Because that's what you're used to, probably? I played this game on the pc myself, but I played it on the tv in my living room with an xbox controller, because that's how I like to play games. I imagine it's a lot easier if you're good with a mouse, though.

Won't be getting this, personally. Got tired of the combat in Bioshock way before it ended. I wouldn't normally get a first person shooter anyway, don't find anything fun about the basic gameplay. But I play the Bioshocks for the story.

At first I felt the combat was the weakest part of Bioshock Infinte. But there was a point when it just clicked, and I found the right combination of Vigors. And after that I fell head over heels for the combat. I think playing on hard helped.

I played through the game on hard twice and while the story was the best thing about the game, I was smitten with the unique combat.

So I am very excited about this DLC, gives me a great reason to play around with the combat and experiment. Although don't get me wrong, I am WAY more excited about the Buried at Sea DLC. But they compliment each other excellently IMO.

And with the price of the 3 DLC's adding up to $35, the Season Pass is still the way to go! (good job because I bought the damn thing twice! Once on PS3 and then on PC when I got my gaming rig).

EDIT: I am also getting that effect, seems to be intentional. I hear it's on PS3 too (from what I hear). Wonder if they added it to the main game as well?

Really not that hard when you've been playing first person shooters with a controller for more than 10 years. As long as you're not playing a very fast paced game like Serious Sam or Hard Reset, controllers are really not that bad.

When you don't know what you're buying, yeah, for sure. Now that we know what it is, it's actually a pretty good deal. It's cheaper to get the season pass even if you're only interested in the story dlc.

I'm not complaining but hey, it's the other 2 I am waiting for. Bioshock dlc is noted for sometimes surpassing the game (Miranda's Garden) This, well it's not bad for what it is, but ..all the way for 2014 for the 2 real episodes. wow.

I've played it; it's fine. As a stop gap between Burial at Sea it's reasonable enough to simply pass time. Also I'm glad that you can just keep hitting continue and die as many times as you want, but still get to keep any money/upgrade's you've earned, otherwise it would be super difficult and repetitive.

I saw somebody on a different site mention that if you buy the Burial At Sea stuff separately without a season pass, you're paying the same amount as if you bought a season pass, so this combat DLC is essentially free in that context. Which is the only way I would get it. I have no idea if that math is right, but I really want the Burial At Sea stuff, so I might end up owning this too.

I've been having fun with this so far. As other have pointed out, the Burial at Sea episodes will be $15 a piece, so unless they're somehow terrible I think the $20 season pass is a pretty good deal.

Can someone explain why anyone would do a horde mode DLC for Bioshock? It adds close to nothing and doesn't continue with the story, which was the most interesting thing about the game. I just put up with the combat just to see what happened next.

Man. Brad gets really close to spoiling some stuff near the end of this, and also, it astounds me when people play like that or how Jeff describes. When you have all these awesome tools like skylines and Vigors and tears, why are you just walking around shooting people in the face like you do in every other game? Why aren't you lifting a guy up with Bucking Bronco and then throwing a fireball at him? Why aren't you grabbing guys with Undertow and throwing them into the air and shotgunning them like a skeet shoot? Why aren't you riding the skylines and opening up tears to rocket automatons and then pouncing on distracted enemies?

I DON'T GET IT.

Apparently there are audio logs that you can find during the Horde mode from the Luteces' that explain the story some more.
