Quick Look: Blue Estate

I'm not disagreeing I'm just saying that him asking if the poster above him was transgender was probably because they're argument would be completely paradoxical if they weren't.

That said, what people find offensive is a personal thing. Of course I, for example, don't really have a voice in it as someone who isn't transgendered, but at the same time I'm sure there are trans people who find this offensive, as well as those who don't.

I actually think this game looks pretty fun.

Terminator 2 is a fun goof and all but yo don't be fooled.

On the topic of this game, I've always found it interesting, since the comic is actually pretty good, and this completely misses the mark. I think it's because it focuses on the worst character, who's supposed to be a completely unlikable shithead, but the game acts like he's the hero.

Man, Image has the best line-up of original comic books right now. Why did they choose to have a game made about the lamest series they've got going?

@rorie: Hi, Rorie! Although I (and Rakune, it seems) agree with you, I originally asked the question because it looked like the post I originally quoted had the connotation of: "Are you transgender? If not, you're NOT ALLOWED to be offended at transphobic jokes" -- which is just as ridiculous and ignorant as saying "you're not allowed to be offended at racist jokes if you're white" or "you're not allowed to be offended at misogynist jokes if you're a man".

A lot of those Image contracts don't give them much control over what the creators do with the IP. I imagine the guys behind Blue Estate did this without Images involvement.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is easily the funniest game I've played in recent memory. I thought the tutorial stuff was genuinely funny, and that sex scene towards the end slayed me. Also, "FUCK: Failing to Understand our Capacity for Kindness." Plus with that game the humor was mostly good-natured. It wasn't like that Duke Nukem style of humor where the main character is a total dick who will basically kill women to clear a path.

I had some sort of deal at Amazon to get some comics for free, so I got the first two trade paperbacks of Blue Estate...I read 90% of the first one. The comic just sucks. The art is odd with some charterers just weirdly distorted and some appearing normal,...but the writing is just subpar.

So it really was a waste of money...well not my money...but I could have chosen something better to get for free.

Persona 4 is the funniest game I've played. You don't need cutting edge tech to be amusing.

This game makes me not want to identify as a game developer anymore.... jesus.

Also, "pulp" done sort of right: Max Payne 3 and Shadows of the Damned.

Wet had a real well done pulp style. Which was good, because mechanically that game had some problems.

Man, the description for this should have read "Bring your hair gel and a loose definition of humor" to really fit this perfectly.

Not mocking it actually; it just seems like a good PS+ freebie to get trophies in later on. Certainly not something to buy day one.

Spoiler Alert: I WAS MOCKING IT THE WHOLE TIME!

I listened to a radio interview once with a lady who owned a high end lingerie shop. She talked some about the bra sizes they offered and what range the letter scale actually covers. She said sizes beyond D were very common and that what you think, or I guess what men think and the media portrays a size D cup as, is actually much larger than a D cup size is in reality. Breasts you might see and say, those are really quite large, are more likely to be in the E, F, and G range than D. It wasn't even about women with huge augmentations. Just large women (meaning big/tall, not necessarily obese).

Anyway, most of it was about women wearing the wrong sizes and being uncomfortable as a result.

Also, I hated Die Hard 4. Die Hard needs to have the freedom of an R rating to work properly. That one, there was this tension where I can feel them removing swear words and cutting violent scenes just so to squeeze in to PG-13 rating. It was very distracting. Also also I didn't care for the young fella comic relief sidekick.

Everyone at Giant Bomb needs to learn the proper definition. Ten thousand usages, not one of 'em right so far.

The next-gen Custer's Revenge. Not even The Birth of a Nation-quality, just angry-white-boy-screaming-racial-epithets-on-YouTube. Can't be more gross.
