Looks better than Divinity 2: Ego Draconis but worse than Witcher 2... in short, probably not worth my time right now... even with the current RPG drought.

My impression of this game is that it's a bad cross between Mass Effect and The Witcher. With horrible voice acting. Do not want.

It's perfect rental fodder. Definitely Spiders' best game. Glad they're rid of Cyanide and all the mess that lot brings with them.

Just beat it this weekend. Short, but definitely enjoyable. Not something I would ever recommend people buying at full price but I'm very glad I rented it than just dismissing it immediately.

Edwen is just the worst though. Marthas for life.

This looks janky in all the ways I can appreciate. I'll pick it up when it hits $20.

I've been playing this since yesterday and I would say that $20 would be a fair price for this one. It's neither awful or great.

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for these janky European rpgs so I might end up getting this. Love me some "eurojank", things like Gothic, Risen, Drakensang, the Divinity series, Two Worlds and I even enjoyed Mars: War Logs.

It's likely you'd really enjoy this game.

Hope so! Already bought it, just waiting for the download to finish.

Playing it now for academic purposes mostly, and yep it's yet another copy paste job from their previous titles. It has the same underlying mechanics, the same basic combat system, the same crafting basics, similar character progression, same claustrophobic corridor environments and a bunch of other similarities with Mars: War Logs. They keep iterating their games slightly with every release, so not like they can do any significant improvements in a single year. Still this is a much better overall effort the War Logs ever was. At this pace they might put out a good game somewhere in the next decade. However they definitely crossed over from the "kinda shit" territory into "this is passable" area.

If you're semi interested I would even recommend getting it on a sale somewhere down the line, shouldn't be long. Don't think it's quite worth 30-40 bucks.

I pre-ordered it. Yes, I'm part of the "problem" as people love to tell me, but I'm actually enjoying the game despite some flaws. I'm not entirely sure where this overall gaming community hate for Bound By Flame is coming from, but it needs to stop. It was less than thirty five bucks on Steam, it hasn't crashed on me once and certain things about it, like the soundtrack and the parry system, are great.

That being said, there is a special place in hell for whoever tethered this game's camera to combat areas that are so small and/or narrow.

Oh and, before I forget, here's two tips for people playing the game for the first time:

- The parry/block function DOES NOT defend from all directions when you start. Only from the front. It is a lot like The Witcher series in this regard. Put some points in there so you can parry from anywhere. The skill is essential to making it through the game.

- You have the ability to set traps. Never forget to do so. If you have the time to set them, do it! Even if you think you won't need them, you can pick them up when you're out of combat so they are not wasted. For extra fun, try setting them in a line and see if you can bounce the enemy along their path. It does great damage to bosses and, hey, it looks funny as hell!

A B-grade RPG where Travis Touchdown shit-talks his way through a fantasy land? I can get down with that. Will buy and play one day when it's on sale.

I will most definitely be picking this up when I get through with these damn deadlines.

I'm inherrently disposed to be charitable to this game; its got a LOT of flaws, but that seems to be because its reach exceedeth its grasp, not because of laziness. For something that isn't a AAA-caliber uber-polished release, it looks great and is really viscerally fun to play...except when you hit an area of dodgy balancing and it all turns into a frustrating mess. Or when the voice acting sounds particularly derpy. Or when the dialog gets....well, I have to remind myself that its from a french studio. Remember Me had the same problem with dialog.

unless you're really looking for something to play on your PS4, I can't truly recommend this game at a $50 price tag. But I'd definitely urge someone to try it out for $30 or less in a few months.

The combat doesn't look particularly good, but it's hard to tell from a brad quicklook whether the combat is actually bad, or if he is just blaming the game for his own mistakes. Probably a mix of the two.

That said, this game is weirdly appealing to me. I will probably pick up at some point.

ugh, Kinda what I was afraid of.

Well a super steep sale and time permitting I may eventually get suckered in, but that combat system looks dreadful.
