The sounds of the gunshots and ricochets and the way you get money for kills reminds me of Red Dead Revolver in the best way. Now it just needs sick boss battles.

edit: and proper gunslingin'? I like this a lot.

Please...enough Patrick in quick looks

Yes how dare we have someone who is positive about a decent game on a quick look enjoying themselves. At least he's not moping the whole time like that Dota addict Brad...

I get some people don't like Patrick but come on. He isn't playing horribly, he isn't shitting on the game needlessly, quit hatin'.

7 out of the last 8 is a bit overkill IMO

Well at least you won't see him much longer, as Taja said. No worries though, soon he'll be another Alex. Everyone likes Alex right?

...guys?

Where'd everyone go?

Honestly, I like Alex's input more now that hes not in the office. Makes what he has to say more important rather than being saturated with him. I think the same goes for Patrick. Those that dont like him (like myself) will hopefully have a better appreciation of his stances once hes not being shoved into the faces of everyone.

Patrick in no more Quick Looks? Who said that?

@patrickklepek I really enjoyed Bound in Blood too. It had a fantastic flow to it and the gun play was good. Lots of variety in the stages, and eventually getting freedom to roam around on the horse was like a different game, but it worked and was a new distraction. Riding down the waterfall in the canoe has got to be one of my most exciting moments in a game, because it felt so real. Do you share any of these interests in the game? I'd love to know what you're memories of the game was like in more detail.

Call of Juarez 1, when it first came out on PC it was definitely the best looking game at the time. When DX10 features were added, it took the realm again. The game was fresh, because it was a western, and tried hard to stay accurate. There was a lack of westerns at the time so this was great. The game had a lot of flaws though.

GOOD TECHLAND, in my opinion, did Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood and Dead Island. You guys already covered BAD TECHLAND...

Looks like something I'll pick up on PC soon.

Patrick saying, "really clever way to" when describing:

Flashback story telling.

Bullet time.

And much more to come on next weeks bombcast!

Seriously though, this game doesn't look that great. Art style is slick though.

Jeff describes a lot of things with ending the description with "...in some really smart ways." a lot too.

I was hoping they would do a QL of this, I've been playing it for a couple days and am really enjoying it. Hope this convinces some people to pick it up, it's definitely worth the $$$.

Even after the success of Red Dead Redemption there are still not enough western games so its good to hear that this one sounds decent. I will probably grab this.

This game is honestly really, really fun. It's just a fun arcade shooter with tons of replay-ability (I'm on new game + right now on the hardest difficulty), with a fleshed out score attack mode and a pretty great storytelling hook to boot. For it's budget price you seriously can't go wrong. It does kind of freeze up occasionally on my computer, but my computer's getting there in age anyway.

@patrick we like your personality, but IMO when doing these videos you should play more and explain less. Best to let the game speak for itself.

Since Michael Biehn was Johnny Ringo in Tombstone, it would've been cool if he could've been in this as well as blood dragon.

I played an hour today, it is pretty good, and it's only $11.24 at GMG (steam key) which may or may not beat the US steam price but it certainly beats EU pricing.

Weird, I can't find it. Was that a direct link?

Nope, they do URL rewrites based on region so it's a bit iffy to link directly. <-- that link should take you there, unless it's not available in your region. (The above was actually a referal link, if you've used it to sign up, you and I both get a $2 store credit after first purchase)

The description of how the game rewrites itself to fit the narrative sounds cool. I expect the "Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep" DLC for Borderlands 2 will do the same.

Blood hell! Jeff is clearly not interested in this game. Haha! It's quite funny, if not a little irritating.

Patrick: "This is really cool"
Jeff: "Meh"

Patrick: "That's a clever way of handling that"
Jeff: "Meh"

Patrick: "This really is a very interesting mechanic"
Jeff: "...Meh"

I've played about 3 hours of this game and it's quite good, although it often feels like a rail shooter/shooting gallery at times.

So looks like when Patrick leaves we're going to get like 1 quicklook a month or something... great...

Anyways, game looks decent enough for it's price, just not interested in more shooters personally though.

I like how it looks. The cell-shading isn't overblown so it just adds a nice hint to it. The gameplay also seems cool. I love games that give you points for killing things in silly ways similar to bulletstorm.

I did a foolish thing and bought this game. I didn't even wait for a sale. it's just that for 15.00 bones it looked pretty good, but I didn't need it, I have Metro and Dishonored. I think Blood Dragon has made me more inclined to support a cheaper game if it looks like effort went into it. Indie games have also opened me up more to the middle or so tier.

Can I just ask.. is Patrick actually leaving or is this the same Brad is leaving joke? It's a shame... I know he has his hate-puppies but he knows his shit and he is far from the somewhat disillusioned state that some of the older GB crew members have seemingly, and after decades some what understandably found themselves in with the gaming industry as a whole.

He's living San Fransisco to move back to Chicago. He'll still be working for the site, making content, articles, ect. He might even do an east coast cast with Alex. He leaves in about a month I think. So, no, it isn't one of the dumb "Brad is leaving" memes.

This looks surprisingly cool.

It is AWESOME. This is definitely going to be the sleeper hit of the year. I sat down today to play it and ended up playing it straight through in one sitting. The action and point system is so rewarding on a feedback level. Something about it coupled with the narrative/story telling is just so satisfying. As soon as I beat it I started a NG+ right after on the hardest difficulty that unlocks at the end when you beat it. It totally changes the game (no hud, no crosshairs, dual pistols are useless lol).
